Not a surprise to me. Less top end ultimately makes you slower. The F150 manifold guys may THINK their car is faster because it has more low end torque, but it is not faster.

If you actually rev it out like you are supposed to you will be held back, as you have seen. Stock 15 mani, 18 mani, Boss mani, CJ mani all greater. Again this is a high revving motor, its not an F150 truck designed for hauling things.
I can tell you from 1st hand knowledge. The f150 feels stronger down low. great for cruising. But did test runs with f150 & with '18 intake. The f150 was on bama tune stock injectors. the '18 VMP tune with 47#r's. From same distance car was 8 mph faster with the '18. If you wind it with the '18 it gets scary quick. I can only imagine what FI feels like in these cars.

Every time i see a post about low end torque or the truck manifold being better overall reminds me of this clip. Btw if you are only driving around town I get it :crackup::crackup::crackup::crackup:

There's other places where mid-range torque matters a helluva lot more than top end power, and it's not on the street. Some people like to take turns every once in a while, not just mash the pedal and go straight for a few seconds

Yeah, but nobody tracking the car is going to buy a F-150 manifold. It doesn't make any sense at all.

No of course not, I'm just more talking about power curves in general vs. the comment that those who worry about low-midrange torque only drive on the street to church or the grocery store.

this is the argument that never ends, yes it goes on and on my friends, some F150 manifold owners installed it thinking what it was and they wont stop this argument forever just because this is the argument that never ends.....................

Or would they ;) I run 6 different tracks and I can say that the f150 mani has its downsides and upsides depending on the track. I’d almost like to run the f150 on some and an ‘18 on others. I think overall the ‘18 mani is prolly the best choice out there. But it wasn’t out when I started this whole F150 mani thing.

Try the '18+ F150 mani thing. :)

Lou, are you doing the 18+ F-150 mani or are you on the 15-17 F-150 mani? That is a very interesting point. I bet the Ford engineers "opened up" the 18+ F-150 mani to give it a little more top end but still maintaining really good torque low to mid.

I've got the 15-17 F150 mani on now. I was suggesting that @apex15stangPP start a new thread with the 18+ F150 mani. I'd like to try that myself for sure but it's more involved as has been proven with the 18+ GT manifold installs.

Is this a valid comparison considering each manifold was also run with a different tune? From what I have read, the "bama" tune less than desirable?

There are variables such as the tune but given equal drivers/cars you will lose with the F150 in a straight line race. It just doesn't pull up top like the '18 does. There really isn't a tune for the 150 (or I've been told). The F150 does feel more torque/fun for everyday driving. I admit that. But on the highway & for WOT passes the '18 wins. I was going to keep the f150 til did the Steeda drag suspension kit.

Still waiting to see an 18+ mustang w/ 18+ f150 manifold. Curious if it can hang on until 6500+ or it drops off sooner like the 15-17 f150.
