I'm currently tuning my 17 GT with the stock manifold to run with the IMRC's locked out. When I get this accomplished I am going to install an 18 truck manifold. I am having no luck finding any 15 to 17 intakes at reasonable prices. I have no idea why people think they are gold.

I want to make an adapter plate to fit 15 to 17 IMRC control valves to 18 plus manifolds. I cannot have my car down for the time it will take and like I said I cannot find a reasonably priced 17 any mani to use as a template.

So I am going the lockout rout. I figure if I lockout my stock GT manifold and tune, then install an 18 truck manifold locked out, I am comparing apples to apples.

We will see.

A member here very generously sent me a 17 F150 manifold to use to mock up the plates. (Check my previous posts)

Thank you Sir

It looks promising, the 18 F150 manifold is noticeably larger in the runner area. So I am hopeful it will keep the truck torque curve, pull to the stock 17 redline, and not need a tune to run it.

You can change the imrc voltage settings from the 15-17 to my18 models. Very simple. Imrc stay active and engine functions as intended. Lot less headache than redoing or trying to trim the mapped points and distance tables etc.

Ford actually swaps the settings back on the bullitts because the gt350 still uses older style imrc actuators. Did I mention how simple it was to keep the imrc? Literally 4 data points.

So what are these 4 data points?

Looks like 6. I'll try it but every working tune I have seen went into the mapped points tables

Even Lund says it's easier to tune with them locked out.

These plates are not for someone who wants every last HP. They will be for the guy who wants a better torque curve so a F150 manifold looks good. If I am correct in my thinking the 18 F150 manifold will keep the great TQ curve and give nothing up up top.

that is correct, its 6 i forgot about the angles.

im using VMP pnp harnes for the wiring and made the changes to the imrc sensor tables only using a my18 GT mani on my my17. zero issues, no codes, runs exactly as it did with the stock manifold just different top end.

i dont know why some tuners cant make the voltage changes. i suspect more of the issue is the hard wiring people try and do to save a buck and poor connections/incorrect connections crop up.

here is what i see as the differences in the settings for a my17 to my18 f150 manifold.
