Not every Coyote intake by a long shot. But interesting to see the 18 GT vs GT350 comparison. They reved the Cobra Jet manifold higher but not the GT350, why given the slightly bigger Voodoo revs to 8200?

A bit unclear on which throttle body they use on which manifolds.

Justin tested a Gen2 'Yote, this test is on a Gen3,

Lordy looks like the CJ will have no problem pulling to 8500.

How about the more popular intakes used for Coyotes.

Oh I agree, I saw the VMP video when it was released, but there was some back lash from fans over the tests. Its been a while and I can't remember what the complaint was? I thought this would be interesting to those that had issues with that video.

After seeing the VMP video, I don't see how any 18+ owner would bother replacing theirs. Maybe a port job if they felt like it, but nothing more. That's one really damn good intake.

A couple critiques that I was open about when this was posted on FB.

Disclaimer: the CJ obviously will be the fastest if you rev the engine to 8000-8500 rpm every shift. That said, it does not make it the best for every situation/person. Here's why:

1) Average power numbers are shown with different ranges on the GT350, Boss and 2018 manifolds than the CJ, in a way that skews the result in favor of the CJ (3000-7500 for first three, 3500-8000 for CJ)
- I replicated the curves and power numbers they recorded and got the same average power #s within a very, very small % difference and found the following:
- 1) If you drop the top of the average for the CJ to 7500 like the rest, the average power drops from ~466 to ~456
- 2) If you drop the whole range to the SAME as every other manifold (3000-7500), the 2018 manifold has higher average power (the person posting the result actually said it was only a 1.1 hp difference...this is FALSE)

The point is: the best choice depends on how you're going to use the car and how far you want to stretch the limits. From 3000-7500, the 2018 manifold makes the most average and peak power between those. See attachments for proof of assertions, including my replica graph and the table used to make it, along with the actual dyno chart from the test.

I think Bmac just hit on it. It's about the application you are using the car for. What this just proves to me again is that - for a street car... that 2018 intake manifold is HARD to beat. It really hits on the powerband you want to use for the street, in my opinion. Drag car, light-to-light racer, mini-van overtaker  whatever your preference is... you might make a different choice. I'd still say the 2018 manifold is an awesome all-around performer.
