I was just going to ask if anyone has tried the '18+ F-150 manifold....

Curious how it compares with the earlier one since they appear to be a better piece just as the '18 GT manifold is over the previous GT.

So I assume there is a difference between a 17 f-150 mani and an 18 F-150 mani? If the 18 is better, I have a somewhat useless 17, if not, then I'm good with the 17.
Then I got really lucky getting my 17 almost a year ago for about $70.

One thing to remember if you have a '15-'17 Mustang GT..., the '15-'17 F-150 intake manifold will work with absolutely no tune or tune revisions needed as all the vacuum locations and IMRC functions are exactly the same.

If you were to put an '18-'20 F-150 intake manifold on a '15-'17 Mustang GT, you are going to need a tune or a tune revision due to the IMRC's.

I put a '17 F-150 intake manifold on my '16 GT after I had my LUND Flex-Fuel tune dialed in on the stock intake manifold, and when I did the intake swap, my FF tune needed no tune revision(s).

AND..., I bought my F-150 intake manifold for $86, shipped. :like:

I got lucky ebay 2017 f150 15,000 miles for 150.00 shipped
Cool. I paid $75 shipped when I ran 1 back in late 2017/early 2018. I had seen them going for over $300 at one time.

I'm wondering the same about the 2018 f150 on a 2018+ GT. Mine's a daily driver and never gets raced. Would love to have some extra torque in the low and mid range. I occasionally see over 6k but not daily. I'm thinking about grabbing one and smoothing it out before installing it. May be my Christmas present and project. I'll report back here with results if I do.

I'm more curious about the '18+ F-150 intake on a '15-'17 Mustang. It would be interesting if it had more midrange but wouldn't fall off as much as the earlier F-150 unit, and otherwise offer the stock top end.

That'd be ideal … not sure anyone's tuned one of those combo's so may be a challenge over e-mail unless you can get dyno time.

When going with the '18+ F-150 intake manifold on a '15-'17 Mustang GT, I think it would be best to simply lock out the IMRC's on the F-150 manifold in the base tune like most peeps are doing with an '18+ GT manifold on a '15-'17 Mustang?

In a perfect world it would be great to see the '18+ F-150 manifold (possibly ported) make just as much torque as the '15-'17 F-150 manifold, while making more HP in the higher RPM range. A guy can dream, right?

Like I have said many times..., the reason why soooooooo many peeps tend to poo-poo the F-150 intake manifold being bolted on a Mustang is for two reasons: 1. They get way too caught up in the outright HP numbers at 7,800 rpm (where I rarely if ever drive), and 2. Nobody is going to go, "oohhh, ahhhh" when you open the hood of your Mustang at a Cars 'N Coffee.

Base tune?? I thought you still needed a tune for the '18+ GT manifolds on '15-'17 GT's?? Am I wrong?

Maybe he is saying to have the imrc disabled in the tune I don't know if it's that easy I have a 18 f150 manifold that's locked out and I have hp tuner. I might have to look into this

You'd be the guy then to try it! Who's tuned your car? Lund?

I meant like the ("base") tune someone would get from LUND when installing an '18+ GT manifold on their '15-'17 GT. Maybe a similar tune file could be used to install an '18+ F-150 manifold on a 15-'17 GT??
