Im no stranger to sports cars. I’m blessed. I have had Mopar, Corvette, Audi S, BMW M, and now the 350. The amount of morons who aggressively attempt to get my attention is light years larger in the 350.

In particular, it’s 2 classes of drivers. Dudes in lifted big tire pickup trucks, and kids in clapped out G35s and 350Z and other assorted fart can trash. Every single time I am out it seems a F150 wants to floor it next to me. Just today I had a completely trashed G35 riding on blown out struts and a straight exhaust rev his engine over and over again when I pulled up behind him at a stop light. It’s hard to miss these cars from the front. I think it’s the cars best angle.

What do these people think I’m gonna do? Ride out 2nd and 3rd gear in city traffic with a speed limit of 35 or 45? If a cop sees that, I’m going to jail. They don’t like seeing sports cars double the speed limit in high density urban areas. I know this from experience.

It’s just baffling. Either they think these cars are slow, or they think their cars are fast. Which they aren’t. If it was Hellcats or Z06s, I would get it. That’s a legitimate battle. But a 350Z with a straight pipe isn’t even worth the gas. It’s like picking on a blind kid.

People see the Cobra plaque and just immediately assume we are as dumb as they are. No other car I have had gave me this much negative attention. I need a sticker on the back or something. “No im not gonna race you in a 35mph zone.”

Try owning a superbike. When I had my R1, I had every idiot with a civic with a fart pipe wanting to "race" me.
Hate to break it to you kid, my bike has a power to weight ratio that equalled supercars at the time, unless you put about 3x the price of your car into the engine, don't bother.

Occasionally I would match their revs at the lights and then just putter away as they risked blowing their engine to "beat" me.

My Viper attracts more attention than any bike I ever had, but so far nobody has wanted to race :)

Nice looking sports cars bring out the best and the worst in people. Unfortunately, through the years, the people got worse and so did the experience.

For some reason they want to prove that they can beat a $50,000+ with a $1000 car. Now can it be done?sure but Not for $1000. If you take a $1000 car and drop $10,000 in it then sure no problem. But that would mean that they now have a real fast clapped out p.o.s. That is fast from 0-100 but 100-0 in forever and can’t even take a corner at speed limit and at the end of the day it’s still worth $1000.

But if you pull up next to a short bed single cab 4x4 that is lowered. Be prepared to get a good look at that tailgate.
There’s only one reason to lower that truck.

Short bed supercharged pickups ….No problem. Just make sure you pick a road that ends in a nice hairpin turn. Slow down, and careful around the pieces as you approach. :like:

I got the same idiots when I had my C6, C7, and now my Mach 1. Ironically the p-measuring from others is worse in my Mach 1. After I left "regular" cars and started buying my Corvettes I finally realized plus my age probably that my car has nothing to prove to these idiots and neither do I. It turns me off to people but I always do my best if a kid comes over to look at it or if they want me to rev it because I remember when I was a kid and always loved that.

I think a lot of it is just them wanting to pecker measure or "see what you can do". Since their prefrontal cortex never developed they can't envision why you wouldn't want to race on a high density surface street.

It's honestly a wonder how these people keep their license or insurance, but then I remember other than highway patrol, cops here rarely pull anyone over for anything ever since a certain year lol

I don't know but I had kid in what I think was Subaru Forrester take off at mach 3 from a redlight. I was thinking, damn, I don't own a car that could touch that even if I was interested. A Subaru, lol. Evidently you really can make anything fast.

I take great pleasure in completely ignoring these turduckens. I look straight ahead and pretend they do not exist. I use my peripherals to revel in their increasingly frantic attempts to get my attention: rolling down their windows, waving, pointing, shouting, revving their engines. Then eventually they just give up and do a ricer fly by and drive to the local mall where they try to impress some teenage girls.

Had that happen tonight, stopped to get gas and a kid hung his head out the window of a mini van and said "give me a rip, that is my dream car". I was happy to oblige :)
