I don't think I would ever consider spending that kind of cash on what is still an MT82 at the end of the day. I don't hate my MT82, it's light years beyond the one that was in my S197.
I'll keep waiting for Tremec to release their C8 compatible manual transmission as an actual product and either GM comes to their senses and brings it to the lineup or someone makes a kit with it available.

Well I took a chance on some Temu "lego" kits, some were hits, some were misses.
Here's what $20 buys you:
Nothing special, the front wheels don't even turn (steer), the instructions were in a tiny booklet I could barely read (so small).
Took another shot at a slightly more expensive kit ($70...
I worked gun-line with an M777 battery for many years, that far back from the trunnion, there's very little shock 🤷‍♂️

I find it almost impossible to believe someone changed your steering rack without you knowing about it, because... why? if they didn't charge you for it, they did it for free (even considering they swapped your steering rack to re-sell it, they would be lucky to break even after the labor...
Well I heard that from a buddy of mine is the Royal Canadian Navy about 30 years ago (10 years before I joined the Army lol), so it's at least common to North American military ;)
His version is a bit different: SInce we have no marine corps, the marine and army bit is more or less combined...
