In a 1500whp application I wouldn't use anything but a billet rod for longevity purposes, if it's a drag only engine then aluminum, but at 1500whp a lot of things become consumable and rods maybe one of them if aluminum is chosen.

There isn’t very many 100% USA made forged h beam rods. Most are forged overseas and finished here. I don’t think a forged h beam is going to last a long time at 1500hp. H-tuff rods with arp just say 1000+ without arp 750. Most of the time a rod failure happens when the rod is being pulled down by the crankshaft and not when it is being pushed. If you are really going for 1500 wheel get boostline

We've got 2 builds making over 1200whp on H-tuffs in our group. I agree though, 1300-1600 takes a serious billet rod.

I've got the Manley I beams in 4340. I had the 300M on back order for 8 months and still couldn't get them so I reverted to the 4340.
I know you didn't want an I beam rod but I couldn't resist. Car should be hitting the dyno in a month after we get break-in finished up. Guess I'm going to be figuring out just how much HP 62/66 turbos will make...hopefully 1250-1300 so a decent test of the rods.

Now days the beam doesn’t matter. A I beam can be made as strong as a H beam and the other way

Carillo has always been my go too. Not on this platform but have done 1200 rwhp on them.
Not sure they make a rod for a 5.0 but I ran Carillos in my first BBC Drag engine for years then sold it to another guy who ran it ,the rods lasted over 10 years of beatings and never died..

I’m a carillo fan boy myself 🥴 I did 1200 to the wheels with 7/16 625 bolts and it made many drag passes and a few mile runs. They were fabulous and the customer service was superb. The price is kinda steep though.

I switched to GRP (aluminum) no matter how good your billet rod is
Aluminum is better for drag racing . 2000+HP

BME is good stuff but I would not run them on the street
I called once they swear by it. They said they had over 100k high HP miles on a set with a few drag passes. They said as long as you let engine temp get up before hammering it it would be fine. I didn’t go that route but they say it’s perfectly fine.
