any USA made billet rod will be good for 1500+ and no perf rod comes with a 3/8" bolt or none id use, always 7/16". Avoid china rods with USA names...

The H Tuff's I put in my gen 3 build have 7/16 bolts. Not sure why earlier in the thread it was said they have 3/8s. Mine do not.

Per Manley...

yeah, ive seen that too. I kmow they take a 7/16 socket to assemble. Perhaps the bolt itself necks down.

Sucks because I went off the 7/16 torque spec when I put mine together which means if they're 3/8 I over torqued them.

That is a likely situation. The rod bolt itself is for sure 3/8 thread, with a 7/16 bolt head. Very common for arp to do this.

Guarantee that's what it is then. Damn. Guess im dropping the oil pan! lmao

Doing some research, it looks like the 7/16 bolt is offered on this rod for LS1 applications, but not the coyote.. Ugh.

Better to know now where you can be proactive.

Yep. To make things more confusing, I just dove down a rabbit hole about ARP 2000 3/8" rod bolts and the fact that some of them have been documented as requiring 85-100 lb/ft to achieve .0060 bolt stretch. Bolt stretch is the real measure you want to achieve when putting rods together, not some arbitrary torque wrench value.

So... 50/50 chance they are good how they are. Roll the dice or?

Haha.. ill probably pull the pan this weekend and pop a few rod caps off and see what we have.

If I was a betting man, it is fine and ill be wasting my time. But... right now at this moment, it's all I can think about.

do you have the arp rod bolt stretch tool? i'd try to put that on to see if you got it right and not pop them off.

Ive got a stretch tool on the way. When I assembled the motor I assembled to 90 lb/ft which is too high for these bolts. Manley is calling for 60lb/ft with motor oil.

However, Manley also calls for 58-62 thou bolt stretch and ive read it can take over 80 lb/ft to get those stretch numbers on these bolts.

We'll know soon enough I suppose....

I think you meant .0058-.0062” stretch.
