Not sure they make a rod for a 5.0 but I ran Carillos in my first BBC Drag engine for years then sold it to another guy who ran it ,the rods lasted over 10 years of beatings and never died..Carillo has always been my go too. Not on this platform but have done 1200 rwhp on them.
I’m a carillo fan boy myself I did 1200 to the wheels with 7/16 625 bolts and it made many drag passes and a few mile runs. They were fabulous and the customer service was superb. The price is kinda steep though. Not sure they make a rod for a 5.0 but I ran Carillos in my first BBC Drag engine for years then sold it to another guy who ran it ,the rods lasted over 10 years of beatings and never died..

Aluminum is better for drag racing . 2000+HP
BME is good stuff but I would not run them on the streetBME runs them on the street too
I called once they swear by it. They said they had over 100k high HP miles on a set with a few drag passes. They said as long as you let engine temp get up before hammering it it would be fine. I didn’t go that route but they say it’s perfectly fine.BME is good stuff but I would not run them on the street
And no matter how good your aluminum is titanium is betterI switched to GRP (aluminum) no matter how good your billet rod is
