So how does this compare to say a stock gen2 rod which we've already proven handles 1000whp for a good time with ease.

I sure hope not, at least for that price.

And by looking closely at pictures of the 2 side by side, it's pretty clear they are not exactly the same especially on the small end. Untitled.png

A factory rod was designed for 450hp all day long and these rods are designed for 1000hp all day long. We agree, there are plenty of people who have made a 1000hp on factory rods, just as there are those who have made 1500+ on aftermarket H beams such as these. It all comes down to using the the correct rod for the application.

What piston and rings would you recommend to go with these rods in a non sleeved 2015 GT with twin turbos? I would like to keep stock bore and compression ratio.

Re branded Manley. The MMRs are a great rod.

However, for piece of mind over 1000, i went with the Manley H Tuff. Same rod, just with a bit more meat in the "H" of the beam.

I would imagine that adds a decent amount of weight to the rotating assembly, and requires a decent amount of extra weight adding to the crank counter weights?

Each rod is weighed (big end and small end) and that info is written on the box each rod comes in.

Mine all average 687 grams... some weigh more than others. A factory rod is about 630 grams.

Forged Mahle pistons that im running will probably weigh more than the factroy hyper piston also. The Mahle's are said to be "drop in/no machining required" but to your point, it is probably best to have it all balanced.

Factory gen 2 rods are 613-614 grams each, and a regular Manley rod is just under 600...so those are quite a bit more weight.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that. Regular manleys are 605 or so and 2nd gen rods are definitely NOT 613 lol.

Unless my scale is that far off, they are right at 613. This is without bearings though, so idk if the 630 you mentioned is a complete rod with bearings. 20191011_110905_HDR.jpg

    Good info nonetheless!
