It’s on the upper portion of the filter housing and is covered in a cylindrical heat shield.Where is the oil sensor located?
Do you have to remove the heat shield in order to inspect the fitting? Am I correct in assuming the best way to inspect is to remove the front drivers wheel and look in from there? It’s on the upper portion of the filter housing and is covered in a cylindrical heat shield.
Agreed, I’ve got a 16 SuperCrew Lariat that I love and has been completely trouble free inside and out.I swear Ford trucks are made by an entirely different company. Have a Raptor and it's by far the best overall vehicle I've owned or been around.
Can you tell me exactly where the leak was coming from? Were the threads still intact and tight and it was leaking from the housing of the sender OR was it leaking due to loose threads? I can't imagine the threads coming loose with the sealant compound on it. Mine is completely dry around the threads.Had to replace mine after 8 track days and 6 months of ownership. Started leaking at the track. Used 3 quarts just getting to my dealer. The fixed, no problems. Love the car and beating up on Porsches and BMW'S
Ford TSB 17-2271.That is not what service bulletin recommends do a search and print it up, it will probably come loose again. Always check here before you let the average ford dealer touch your car
It never surprises me how a little some Tech's bother. Instead of taking the time to do the research and fix the issue accordingly. It is hard to find a good tech that gives a damn.Google Ford TSB 17-2271.
I did this my self but I cant remember. Thought I used an O2 (7/8=22mm socket). But if the TSB says 27mm that's probably it. It just needs to be deepwell. No specialty socket needed. What size socket does the EOP sensor take? The parts list on the TSB shows a 27 mm. I didn’t see any specialized socket listed.
