I knew my gt350 would burn through oil but not at this scale!

I had an oil change done at 1300 miles, just checked my oil levels at 4700 miles, and only had 4 quartz of oil left in the car. :eyebulge:

Called Ford Dealer Service Shop and supposedly its normal to burn 1qt of oil every 500 miles?? Has anyone heard of this ? Is this true?

Either way, just wanted to let you all know... CHECK YOUR OIL FREQUENTLY!!!!

This topic has been beaten to death, search button is your friend, happy reading.
Yeah but in a way maybe it's a good thing to create a new thread every week or two to keep this message at the fore, especially for newer members.

How do you know you only had 4 quarts?

I checked the oil and thought it was only missing around two quartz or so. Ended up buying a six pack. I poured the first one and nothing showed up.. I poured the second one, and nothing. This had me really worried and I kept pouring until completely full which was all six! Can't believe I've driving around like that. Never again.

You waited 3400 miles before checking your oil? Not good my friend. At least get into the habit of checking every 1000 miles. My car currently burns a quart every 2500 miles, everyone needs to learn their own consumption rate as it seems to vary greatly.

If you really only had 4 your engine is toast. Id drain it and see how much you get out.

I check mine weekly. It sucks, especially the waiting 15min before checking, but it is what it is.

Take it to the dealer have them inspect to make sure how much shavings are in the pan. Have them record it on paper

Yep, just checked mine. I beat on my engine like I beat my...punching bag. In the hashes.

Let me guess, you've babied the throttle like...always. Man up. Womp on it and seal your engine.

Now, m'escuse while I continue to chug beer.

Yeah I know. This is my first sports car and my thinking was.. "Its new, why should I have to worry about oil levels"

Taking it to the dealership on Tuesday morning..
