Apologize if this has been asked before so if it has can someone just tag the original thread. I’m started my early look into a 350 or R. I’m interested in what the differences are between them? Any specific years to stay away from and why? Thanks guys!

Aside from a nice, non abused one, available for sale being hard to find versus a nice, non abused one available for sale being really hard to find I don’t either but I’m watching this thread.

I'm still looking for a 2017 Grabber Blue stripe delete GT350R. Going on year 3 now.

This will address the pre/post 2019 info. About 3600 Rs were built in 6 years. Roughly 20,000 GT350s were built in 6 years. I recommend doing a lot of homework before buying…this forum has a lot of background info but it isn’t as simple as this vs. that.

My opinion. As a former non-R, and now two-R owner.....the major difference between the GT350 and GT350R is the wheels. I don't daily drive my Rs. Not because of the ridiculous price to replace one of those Carbon Revolution carbon fiber wheels (should I destroy one) BUT because of my concern that someone will run into me. I know. That's lame. Rs are, rarer and thus, rarely seen in-the-wild. Hooligans frequently try to run with me. I've had way too many "close calls" with a pickup truck full of teenagers catching up, taking pictures and urging me to race. For now, I only drive during dinner hour or at night. I look in the rearview mirror (in my Rs) way more than I have ever looked in the past; not for cops but for crazies! Call me paranoid....but the threat is real....

Buy a non-R. Drive it. Enjoy it. Heck, buy two.

Dampers in the R are different part numbers and the mag ride is programmed differently to suit.

R has:
Carbon Wheels
Better Aero (splitter and wing)
Different Magneride shocks (same as GT500) with specific tuning
Different spring rates
Cup 2 tires with R specific compound (not the same as the 2019+ cup2's on the regular GT350's)
2020 models even gained the GT500 front knuckle

He had one and sold it - let's not roast him too badly. ;)

He asked if I had one now, I don’t. I HAD one for a very brief time and sold it. Sold it and have regretted it, had too many vehicles at the time to enjoy. Hope that clears it up…
