Pull your head from your rear and breathe some fresh air. I guess you lack situational awareness.

Lets observe the GT500 Price on the Slide. $56K but oh...wait

MSRP $54,995, including a destination charge of $795. A 2014 Shelby GT500 will run you $55,445

So yes it is a lie. You cant compare your car against the competition by considering adding in destination/ delivery and Automatic Transmission making it $56,645 (56 on the powerpoint) when the price you put up is minus Auto and minus D/D. Common Sense buy some.

Damn you guys want to defend the Hellcat so bad have at it. Go buy one.
This screenshot would have sufficed to show what the $%^& you were talking about. I had nothing to reference against your assertion. I would never buy a Hellcat (for multiple reasons), but I do respect it.

That said, I don't appreciate the comment about pulling my head out of my rear when I didn't know which reference material you were referring to.

EDIT: I see that I missed a post with a link to another post which contained the reference. That caused the confusion.

No worries, I edited my last response too, as I missed a post in the middle there. Anyways, I agree with you that this is deceptive, now that I know what you're talking about. :)

After thinking about it I've really got to chuckle at the "NHRA Certified" 1/4 mile time. So they ran it on an NHRA certified track, with NHRA certified timing equipment. Did they check the car out for ANY of the following.

1. Stock tune (What is a stock tune?)
2. Transmission shift kit or programming?
3. Left out the spare/jack kit, all floor mats, all extraneous weight?
4. Overinflated the front tires?
5. Iced the intake before the run?
6. Made sure ALL parts were present and accounted for on the run so Dodge didn't pull any for weight savings.
7. 1 gallon of gas in the tank?
8. Lightweight battery?
9. Stock rear spring rates?
10. Stock TB bore?

I could go on and on with all these tricks to get you a better ET at the track. My point is NHRA certified only tells you about the track and timing equipment, not the car itself. With all that said I'd bet it could run a 11.2 off the showroom floor in the hands of the right driver, but again NHRA certified means nearly jack squat.

Yeah, the independent testing will tell the real story. I certainly would hope they didn't 'cheat' to get those numbers, as they would be setting themselves up to look pretty dumb if nobody else can duplicate them.

There is no way the Hellcat will go for MSRP listed here. Limited production and once a dealer gets ahold of a few either cancelled orders or through an order bank and FCA, they will jack them way over MSRP. My guess you will be very very lucky to get one under 70k.

For comparison, go try and find a C7 Vette at MSRP...yea, and the C7 has been out for several months now.

Magazine tests will make Dodge fanboys cry. Not saying their times are truely indicative of the car's performance, but they will be widely publicized.

When it comes to ET times like this before a major product launch, it's better to be conservative then to over promise and under deliver. You just paid 70k for a car that is supposed to be faster then the GT500. If you paid 12k more you are hoping it is in fact faster.

Lets just see how the reviews go, but speculation is fun.

I'd pick Hellcat. First 700+ hp off the lot American car. Unreal. Also unique and mysterious (for now). Classic good looks. New Mustang is also very nice. You said pick, I picked. :)
