Average drivers will be interesting especially in the manual car. The automatic should be straight forward, my 12:40s in my 12-392 were achieved launching at 1000-rpms with the TC on, it gave me 1:80-1:90s 60' every pass. Launching without computer help it ran 12:90s. I imagine the system is better on the Hellcat.
The 8speed is superior to the old 6speed. This is the key to low ET times for the pig Hellcat. IT is a very efficient transmission that optimizes shifting at the precise RPM's resulting in an increase in getting into the power band quicker then any manual and other auto transmissions. The only reason this car is faster then the Gt500 is because of the auto. If the GT500 had an auto like this, it would be deep 10's and kick the crap out of the everything in site. The hellcat is a fat car and weights a good 800+ lbs more then a GT500, so keep that in mind.

Dodge advertised 12:40s with the 11-392 Challenger, most called the time BS, the car has proven to be a 12:40s and quicker machine in good conditions. For the 15 392 they state low 12s. I think it will run their number no problem.

I think the same will be the case with the Hellcat. Sure you will see some bad passes just like we see 13-sec passes with the ZL1 and mid 12s with the 500, these are not indicators of the car's performance, just indicators of bad drivers and track prep. You will also see faster than advertised passes just as we have with the ZL1 & 500. Rumor has the Dodge engineers running a 10:58 @ 130-mph with DRs at a closed track rental.
Yes, Dodge advertised the 392 of being capable of running mid 12's but no magazine ever could get to those times at least none that I've read. I think the times for the GT where closer to a real representation of the cars performance and what to expect in a normal situation since the runs where done on the street and improved on the track. The reason for that is because the runs for the Dodge where made on a fully prep track with countless of tries. Ford could play that game and make the Dodge look silly.

I suspect this will be the same scenario with the Hellcat.
The times for the GT500 where all done by the Magazines and not by Ford. The test where also done on an unprept street on street tires, not like the Hellcat in which it's on a fully prep track done by Dodge.
Ford could of had the GT500 running low 11's on a fully prep track in some positive DA but you know what kind of backslash that would of created if hardly nobody could get to those times or when the magazines couldn't duplicate the runs? instead they gave the cars to the Mags and let them test the cars, let them print the time and have the enthusiast squeeze out the stock performance, which I believe it to be 11.2 on street tires with a 6 speed so far.

I much rather for Ford to under promise and over deliver than do the reverse.

Hellcat tested and WOW

Just got released. Hellcat off production line runs a 11.2 - driver puts slicks on and it runs a 10.8 - anything more needed?

59.995 so just call it 60. I hate how deceptive they are becoming.
I like how they combine the 11.2 time with the $60k price, seeing as I'm pretty sure that price doesn't actually include the options the car was equipped with when it achieved that time (e.g. auto tranny?)...

So we basically have all the specs including performance specs for the Challenger and we can't even get power numbers for the Mustang! :tsk: Also read that the first reviews will be out 7/22 and 0-60 is in the mid 3's! Wake up Ford and release the specs!!!

The Challenger isn't an all-new model, just a hi-po version of an old car.
