Well, I finally broke down and purchased a supercharger for my 2025 Mustang GT. I went with a stage one Whipple (will do the upgrade from 1 to 2 after the warranty expires). I cannot wait for it to come in and be installed. However, I am now having my usual buyer's remorse and second guessing my choices. I wonder if I should have gone with the Roush instead. The main reason being i love that whine. I did order the open air boxes from Whipple which supposedly make their system sound more like the Roush but I am not sure how effective it will be in that regard. Opinions? Suggestions?

I have the Whipple Stage 2 with about 20k miles and no regrets. I also did the Foster Supercharger Whine Mod for that in-cabin whine.

You bought the best supercharger. Your car will be transformed.

No need to regret anything.
We always second guess ourselves. It’s human nature. But you wanted the experience, paid for it, and it’s on the way. Get it installed, and then enjoy wondering how you were ever satisfied with an NA car.

As someone who has been playing with the idea of a supercharger, would one also need to get stronger half shafts and different cats? I've read about stock cats melting after adding a supercharger.

If you are staying at Stage 1, you should be fine IRT cats, but the half shafts, stock ones are okay but if you do alot of launches, they can break. GT350's are stronger and a decent price (~400 bucks). If you are pushing up to 700+ to the wheels? Then I would go with some GForce (or similar) to handle the added power, again if you do a lot of launching/drag strip runs. I have a Whipple (Stage 2) on my F150 and I swapped over to the SPD hi flow cats/y pipe cause the stock cats can fail and if they do, well it ain't good. If you start smelling rotten eggs, time to address the cats. I run a Banks Gauge and keep an eye on my cat temps. You start seeing over 1700 degrees for extended periods, then start to pay attention. Mine usually run around 1300-1400 degrees nominally.

Personally, I would go Whipple all day over Rousch. My Bullitt is still NA but next year it will get boost and I already have done the stainless works headers and hi flow cats, so it is ready for boost and I will upgrade the half shafts as I do take my vehicles to the strip.

If you can find a set of OEM GT500 cats, those would work if you go supercharged.

I assume that's just a random picture since it doesn't match the picture in his icon... Plus, isn't that white "venom" an S650?

That said, I don't know if my explanation makes much sense, either, since I have no idea why he would attack a picture of a random car to this post...
