Quick update. This engine has been a trooper for 4 solid years, making 1200whp. Lots of miles and passes every year. Running a best of 8.07 at 173, this engine and the Procharger F1A94 has been awesome!

Once the car was running quicker than 8.20, I ran into cam control issues. Essentially the cam(s) cannot be held within commanded tolerance and it goes into limp mode. I'd say it happened a total of 4 or 5 times. Restart the car and all seems good.

I have gt350 phasers, FP VCT actuators, moroso drag pan and run 5w50 oil. All of this was an effort to maintain enough oil pressure to control the cams. As you make more power (especially over 1khp), the engine sweeps thru the rpm much faster. Fighting higher rpms (9k), stiffer valvesprings and reduced time to control oil flow, cam control is lost. Losing cam control in a boosted engine is detrimental to its health as cylinder pressure spikes when it happens.

With that being said, I had some engine issues last time out. Several issues here, all with #8. Had lots of knock on last pass and loss controll of cams. Nipped the piston ringland slightly in two spots. Lifted the head, piston pin fitment issue and rod bearing hammered and split the intake manifold.

Out we go!

So I got the engine torn down and back to BES for a new rotating assembly. New setup will be a 328cid deal, Callies crank and Ultra h beams, custom Ross pistons at 11:1 cr. All in the existing sleeved Predator block
I'll definitely be locking out the cams on the new setup.

I have the th400 and converter dialed in and and will absolutely be running the Procharger in 2025. I saw @ProChargerTECH video about the new F1R103 blower and i must say, im interested. This engine can take whatever its got! I should have the engine back by mid February!

It’s def going to be 7 second ripper!

cant wait to help put it back together. Still undecided on those CI with all that power and thinner sleeves.

I believe I run 12.5:1 compression and will end up with 38-40 psi.

Don't worry about the sleeves. There's plenty left on the bone. Ken said 11:1 so that's what it is. Done and I'm not worried about it.

What are you running for fuel @RoadCone ? 12.5 CR & 40 pounds of boost is wild.
