So with this Ford tune I'm limited to the original 3-year 36,000 mile initial warranty?

Did you go to ford performance and register an acct? That is where you use the credit and download the procal software from ford performance. Your dead in the water till you do that. That is where the procal will update.Need some help from those who have already done this or a ford tech who can help. My kit arrived some time ago and i recently got around to getting the car to the dealership and today they installed everything but we are hung up at the procal. Ive registered online and plugged the procal into my laptop to check for updates, however the dealership cant get the procal to put the tune on the car. Every time they try to pull the stock file from the car it says invalid strategy then they will try to tune the car and it says invalid model. They have tried it with my laptop plugged in at the same time but it seems the tuner will not accept both a laptop and a OBD connection at the same time. The car is fairly brand new, 2020 with 2k miles, and no its never been tuned before that was the dealers first question. No other mods on the car at all, stock engine. Dealer couldnt figure it out and put me in a ranger for the time being, they have to call the hotline to figure it out but wondering what was the process for those here who have already done it, perhaps its something small thats being overlooked this dealer has never done the power pack before. Thanks in advance for help.
There isn't really anything to overlook. You download the tune on the Procal and upload into the PCM.
No. If installed by a ford dealership or certified mechanic then Ford Performnce's 3y/36k replaces the original Ford factory 3y/36k. Once that time is up, whichever comes first, it defaults back to original Ford the 5y/60k powertrain or any extended warranty you bought. However, that warranty does not cover any parts from the kit (intake, filter, throttle body). If one of those were to break, it wouldn't be covered. If you had catastrophic engine failure due to something like dropped valve, failed timing chain, failed oil pump, or leaking seals, then there's a solid chance you'd be covered. If you did something stupid, like beat the crap out of it while running 87 octane (something the tune states to not do), and ended up with a hole through your piston, then you better hope you're on good terms with your dealership. So with this Ford tune I'm limited to the original 3-year 36,000 mile initial warranty?
It's worth considering the A10 does a great job of always keeping the engine in its powerband. Manual cars will see much more improvement in performance because of the way they are generally driven, and the absurd gear ratios. The improved shift logic for the A10 is likely very nice though. It smoothed the tranny and it gives a little more power. What I didn't realize when I got it is that your now covered under the ford performance warranty 3 years 36000 miles so I screwed myself over because I bought the extended warranty and now my power train is only covered for 36000 miles. Live and learn. On the other hand if nothing goes on the powertrain in the first 36000 miles then I'm probably safe. The other thing is that they have to prove that there parts the same ones they put on the Bullitt and Mach One caused the problem. Like I said in the beginning if you have great expectations for this tune you may be disappointed. If you want a little more HP and a smother tranny (also when you get on it the tranny shifts more aggressively) you will probably like it. If you wait till your warranty has run out there are better tunes out there for less money. Mostly switching to E85. Good luck with your decision.
Why do you think extended warranty will not be affected ? It certainly can, it is an aftermarket modification. And 3/36 for the package starts with car purchase date.Ok, sounds good. I'm thinking that I'll buy an extended warranty as my 19GT gets close to the end of it's 3/36 warranty expiration, and this extended warranty should also not be affected by this mod. The mod just has it's own 3/36 warranty.
