So I had a Focus ST last year and it was great in the winter. HOWEVER, something didn't feel right, intrinsically. It was almost like the car was too good for only winter driving and you couldn't appreciate what it was only as a winter driver. I don't know if that makes sense. I would imagine, at least for me anyway, that a Fiesta ST would have the same effect as the Focus did for me. I doin't know, maybe I'm weird.
Not sure. I'd probably have to drive one for a while to find out. I test drove a Focus ST and I liked it, but it was in the summer. I do generally prefer RWD or AWD over front wheel drive.

For me in the winter I like something that is still quick, still with a manual transmission, but I don't see the need to have it be overpowered like the GT350 is. That's why I like the Porsche 944. It fits what I want quite well (over than being an ancient POS). I think a newer 911 would be perfect for winter driving. In the summer they are too hooked up and seem a little under powered to me, but I think in the winter the amazing handling would be a blast.

Alabama may not be geographically in the actual deepest part of the U.S. but it is considered the deep south. And you are right!!!! The weather is freaking crazy!!!! Today's high 46 and the low 31 brrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Will drive all whenever roads are dry but my 5 year old Audi manual S4 on blizzacks will see daily duty . Still the best all season daily driver but I have been trying to have the 18/GT350 share summmer daily driving duty to keep miles down .
I have been tempted to get rid of the Audi and get a 5th mustang(19 GT 500) but I am reminded every November why that would be a bad idea !

I have had the PP wheels off the 18 wrapped in snows since I took of the PS4 tires to use with SVE wheels so I hope it can share winter daily driving duty whenever it can .

I used to put snow tires on the stock wheels of the 15 GT’s( still have them id any one is loooking but of course they won’t fit the GT 350) and try to drive them in light snow . Lol
I stopped after they started making big power as don’t think 900+ rwhp and snow mix well even with snow tires .
I had contemplated putting snow tires on the stock GT 350 wheels but probably not a good idea since I put the whipple on .

Moved all of my cars up to Pennsylvania to a friends home as relocating out West and now driving an import for the winter.

Certainly not a Mustang but a cool car to drive just the same.

Can't wait to get JR157 out West and put it through it paces.

I sort of understand. I didn't buy the ST just for winter. I bought it because there's an intrinsic appeal in a small, light car with a firm suspension, handling, and a little power. If it's competent in the snow, that will be a bonus.

2" dropped here in VA this morning, I gave it an extra hour before I ventured out and just barely made it to work. None of the road has been cleared and the ruts were skookum as frig(AvE reference :giggle:). Hopefully soon I can get some replacement A/S 3's.

peter, ever consider Conti DWS06's? I drove a '15 GT PP with them on last year and they were SOOOOO good. And I had them on my Focus ST.
