And if it's not other dealers, it's wholesalers. This was just received:"We have wholesalers willing to pay $15,000 over MSRP, please let us know if you change your mind." They weren't the 1st to mention wholesalers or brokers either.
My dealer got that mass-email, too. They told me they were offered $15k over for my R. Sounds like a wholesaler wanted to try to get a large percentage of the Rs and mark them up. By buying the majority of the available ones, they hoped to control the market.

Same crap has been going on with the Hellcats. There were guys calling 100+ dealers looking for allocations or calling on "in transit" cars to see if they were available (most weren't as they were customer orders). Just drives up the mania & thus the price. People frantically taking any combination of color/options just to get a car.

One dealer in S. FL had 2 on his lot for close to 6 months, marked-up $35K, eventually they sold but I doubt he really got what he wanted.

I got tired of the games & ordered a 'stang & will add the go fast toys I want for far less than a Cat @ the new 2016 pricing - got exactly what color & options I wanted & didn't get bent over by some skeezer dealer for outrageous ADM.

As soon as you weed out the gotta-have-it-now crowd the speculators will run for the hills & prices will get realistic.

I expect that all the disappointed dragheads who are thumbing their nose at the GT350 and cancelling their orders will help bring ADMs down very soon.

I received an email from my dealer today saying to plan on seeing my 2015 around 11/2.
Sure hope you are right. My build date was moved up two weeks to week of 11/2 .Maybe having no stripes allows it to skip the body shop. ETA 11/26 That's Thanksgiving. Wtf

Yeah that piece of work mustang manny was saying the same thing, that he was buying allocations from other dealers only to flip them for more.

Im guessing the wholesalers were proxy buyers for international sales.

The original question is easy. What's driving ADMs higher right now? Availability.

Many dealerships have waiting lists for their allocations. The ones that have allocations still have people by the seat of the pants as they know getting one is getting harder and harder with less allocations unpurchased/unclaimed.

This happens with a car with a finite number per year when slots get low. It's not a normal 5.0 where if you order one in August you pay the same as ordering it at the and of the model year in May. As long as they are producing the model year they will build you a 5.0.

I've been watching Ebay for the past couple of weeks. There are dealers that are auctioning off their allocations. Some are selling and some are not.
So far, the following bids--for over MSRP: $7050, $8100, $1930 (not sold), $9475, $14,00; and $9130.

There have been a lot more than that. Few $14k, $16k...

Now, did the buyer come through? Who knows.
