I'm guessing he went to one of the small dealers since it seems like all the portland big dealers want a kings ransom in ADM. I think I was quoted $20K over for that yellow with black stripes. So I went to a small dealer in WA and ordered exactly what I want.
Exactly what I did.

The yellow one with black stripes is now sold. Wonder what it went for...

Like the guy above me who isn't scheduled yet..

If we got our cars scheduled today.. and delivered in an month and a half. That'd be almost 9 months from initial order. (Assuming May 5 being the delivery date, which at the moment doesn't exactly seem out of the realm of possibility)

Custom order BMW's don't take this long
..and that's including doing a European delivery and still waiting for it to cross the ocean (my signature, I waited 10 weeks for redelivery after going 2 years ago)

9 months.. is borderline insane. Seriously. Mine is not even an R. This isn't a RS Porsche. This isn't a special order Ferrari. What gives?

Whenever I call Ford Performance they always say "Is yours an R, because R's have not been built over..." etc. And when I tell him it's not.. they're blown away.
It is a long period to wait and you're right it's not a Ferrari or an RS Porsche.

However it is the Shelby GT350 and it has not been in production since 1967 - the world has been waiting for nearly 50 years - that in itself puts the car at another level.

There was a Shelby GT350 in 1969-1970. Also, there was a shelby GT350 in 2011 by Shelby America. But they are not nearly as special as the 2015-2016 GT350.

I wouldn't even consider the 2011-2012 GT350 a "Real" GT350. All it was, was a GT Premium with a blower slapped on it and an exterior/interior kit with produced by Shelby American, not Ford. The current one though, is an actual mass produced car designed, engineered and produced by Ford.

I've had to get back into my 911 and re convince myself how awesome it is so I don't tack on tens of thousands of miles on the GT350 over the summer.

I will say the GT350 compliments the 911 very well - being such a different driving experience it is bringing out the lightweight agility of the 911 and the rear engine dynamics which I had become so used to after 4 months without a second track car. See there i'm convinced.

That just has the S H E L B Y name slapped on it So much for authenticity:lol: The car is significant though in that Ford put some effort into engineering it to be a really good car it's own right. :ford:
