Don't know how many people are on these forums and as a percentage of all GT350 buyers, but does it seem like quite a few engine/car replacement problems that we know about? Might be worthwhile to have a running tally.

Maybe they're continuing FPC production to 2020 not because they're extending the GT350 beyond this year but because they need replacements.
I threw that idea out as a joke mostly in that thread about the engine production extension lol

Sorry to hear that..tough pill to swallow. Another member on this forum posted last week Ford was out of complete engines and was offering him a short block. Different circumstances and with metal going through yours, they shouldn't offer just the lower end. Be prepared for a backorder situation. Sucks...
Yep, my motor is on backorder with no ETA.

Ford can't do that. There are very likely several Federal and state laws that preclude doing that. A future owner of the car is entitled to know whether or not it has the original engine in it.

And yes there will be a record of the swap so a new owner would know, but given that the swap is documented what would be the point of putting the original VIN on the new engine. Once its done its done regardless of the VIN on the engine.
For what it is worth Boss 302 owners who needed engine replacements had some sort of engine tag swapped over to the new engine when their dealers got it. I didn't have anything like that on mine, but since it was a pre-production car, I think that is why.

Only $16,746 from autonation white bear lake though!
That's actually not all that bad. The Road Runner was about 13k from Tasca and I paid more than the GT350 motor when I built mine.

Went to my dealer during lunch. Met the technician working on my car. Shook his hand and made friends. I have asked if he could document the removal and installation of the engine. He will get back with me on that. He did walk me through the process troubleshooting the Voodoo. Ford guided him literally through every step. Any thing he removed or tested was per Ford's instruction's. Once the phaser was replaced and the engine was tested, he said it was running well minus the loud knocking. More tests directed by ford to include oil inspection which in conjunction with the knocking, Ford gave the instruction to replace the engine.

Is there a thread anywhere that is dedicated to how many 350s that have or are in the process of engine replacement? This would be good information. In other words one thread where all cases are documented.

did you spell false wrong on purpose, like you know I'm really correct? But yeah that's my thoughts right or wrong, But yeah the issues have turned me off of a gt350. Every week we have one on here going boom, I'm at 12+ so far going boom.

Not sure why it spelled false like that. I'm posting from my phone. So you don't think any 5.0, 2.3, etc or GM 6.2 or dodge hell cats went boom? Don't let that scare you from buying one. I have one and so do 1000s of other happy owners. I'm a mechanic and I can name every vehicle make and model that's had engine failure.

Please show us the metrics that you base your claim on. Because a handful of people on a Mustang forum lost engines you say too many have gone "boom"?

Ford has probably made 7000 GT350's by now and I think I've read of 3 people on here having engine problems.

Produce your data instead of making outrageous, unsubstantiated claims:crazy:

Since you're being the spelling police with Voodooo, "way to many" should be "Way too many". I also think you meant "so many that I won't buy one" You really should not question anyone's grammar or spelling as your post was barely understandable:cheers:

All, I am only recommending this as a fact gathering thread, not to start panic or make something out of nothing. Just somewhere we can gather facts that surround any engine failure such as miles, mods, history of use of the car etc etc. In case of any more failures we can use the data to our advantage.

For the record, mine didn't go boom at all. It actually runs and sounds just fine. I think it would be a good idea to start a thread tracking how many need replacements and peoples experience in getting them replaced.
