Worst part is the short block will not have the laser etched VIN to the car. It will just be blank. : (

My replacement was approved/ordered yesterday. I have not been contacted by Ford directly, but it seems you (and the dealer) have been chasing your issue for some time now. My car was towed to my dealer last Friday right before they closed and they just looked at it on Monday. My dealer claims I will have my car back in 2-3 weeks, but this is just what I heard from my service adviser. I can't be sure if he's just telling me what I want to hear or if it's accurate information.

Why is your attendance to the track attack related to your car being broken? I thought you can only drive the school cars on track anyway. I cancelled my September track attack, for reasons unrelated to my car, and plan to reschedule for one in the spring.
It has nothing to do with my car being broken. I recently found out that the Track Attack is only available for the first year of owner ship. I can not attend the reaming dates in 2016. I bought my car in January and school will not be in session JAN17.

Flooring your car over and over on back roads is the same as flooring your car over and over on the track. Ford is stupid for their warranty antics while GM tells people TAKE YOUR CAR AND USE IT

I might as well post in here instead of starting a new thread. I brought my car back in for excessive oil usage. It is also using coolant as well. There are no visible signs of either leaking anywhere and my catch cans are normal. They had me do a 1000 mile test and I didn't even make it to the end of the test before the oil was at the bottom of the stick again.

Any way, my service advisor and service manager told me it could be a while and I may need a new engine as well. We'll see in a couple of weeks I'm sure.

They pull plenty of "antics" at GM.

There are multiple items that you must do before tracking your GM car. These include changing your oil to a heavier weight oil, removing your wheels to put on the cooling hats. If you competitively race, GM will void your warranty just as fast as Ford. They do not say "go have fun with your car" when discussing any competitive events. Oh, and after a session you need to take the cooling rings off, change the oil and brake fluid. If you have a Z06 none of this will matter much as heat soak will kill your lap times after 2 laps. Chevy did track day guys no favor by S/C the Z06.

I'm not a fanboy of Ford and have and still have a Corvette but saying GM just tells you to "Take your car and use it" is inaccurate. If they determine you abused your car, they will void your power train warranty. Some may say there is protection under magnusun-moss but Ford/GM can void your PT warranty and then you need to take them to court where they need to prove it was something you did. Good luck with that. GM has teams of lawyers and will fight and stall every way they can.

Number of engine replacements is growing daily, feel sorry for you guys and best of luck to the rest of us.

Re. VIN, couldn't you request through the Ford Service folks on this forum, or otherwise, for your VINs to be etched? It's a GT350...and it's not like the replacement is an unsanctioned, crate engine replacement. Come on Ford, do these guys (and gals) a solid!

I thought of that too Tank but I would face an ethical dilemma selling it as a numbers matching engine but that's just me.

Ford can't do that. There are very likely several Federal and state laws that preclude doing that. A future owner of the car is entitled to know whether or not it has the original engine in it.

And yes there will be a record of the swap so a new owner would know, but given that the swap is documented what would be the point of putting the original VIN on the new engine. Once its done its done regardless of the VIN on the engine.

Just got to the dealer and the first thing the service rep did is feel for tread depth. Then he proceesed to say, "you are the guys who races this thing" I questioned him and he said that i had a helmet in the back at a prior visit. Already trying to void my warranty. SmH
As long as it is stock, I think they will have a hard time voiding the warranty on a "TRACK PACK" GT350.

Thanks guys!
I didn't mean it in a sneaky or illegal way. Add a "rpl" at the end or something similar. Just something that shows the engine was intended for your car. Maybe chassis number? Anything other than a blank space...It's a GT350.
