way to many have went boom! So many that I want buy one as I dont want the problem and so many they want hold value as too many go boom. 30% off MSRP is what i"m looking for now because of so many GT350 issues. :doh:

:popcorn::cheers:
Your fear will keep you from many fine cars. That is why cars have warranties.

But, I suspect this isn't the real reason you are not getting a GT350.

The Voodoo Program will receive improvements year over year and mostly from professional racing. I have heard of 3 engine failures out of how many cars? 6000, 7000, 8000? cars?

Let me put it to you this way, 3 Z06 engines overheated during magazine comparisons on top of how many failures?

I think Ford is okay as long as they replace the engine.

It seems that there is no real trend in the failures. That is reassuring.

I know of 7 owners who have had, or are having, their engine replaced. Including myself and the OP of this thread. Of those, 4 are believed to be oil pump failures. 2 (of the 6 mentioned) are GT350Rs.

I'm not posting any more info than that out of respect for those owners who haven't publically shared their story.

I think having a single thread to log the basics for each would be nice, but will be hard to keep the data organized...

Well, maybe there is a trend. At least with the failures. I still bet this is less than the Ecoboost failures.

All, I am only recommending this as a fact gathering thread, not to start panic or make something out of nothing. Just somewhere we can gather facts that surround any engine failure such as miles, mods, history of use of the car etc etc. In case of any more failures we can use the data to our advantage.
I don't know if you could trust a thread like that. I remember a thread like that for a Cadillac model. One owner reported his engine blew and Cadillac replaced it. Then that one blew and Cadillac was going to replace it and BTW, the engine in the loaner they gave him blew two blocks from the dealer.

Maybe the driver didn't know he had to take the car out of neutral.

I can assure you with 100% confidence that there have been more ecoboost failures across every configuration than that of the voodoo. So better sell it quick before it's value plummets.

I doubt it will recieve many updates from a 2 car program that is running a highly restricted variation. Wouldn't surprise me if the phasers were locked out or altogether eliminated on the race engines either.

how many of these engines are being driven, we will have no idea of true reliability until the platform has hit more miles. I am cautiously optimistic at the track time completed thus far and the number of cars thrashed in reviews however between loose filters, bearing issues, oil pressure switches, engines from the factory under filled, and oil pumps there are certainly some concerning trends. There is a general QC issue and a lack of proper support channels. In my opinion Ford has a poor grade in how its handled the issues that have arisen. Others can disagree it matters not. I'm glad there is a light at the end of your tunnel now.

for engines to be on significant back-order I would bet more have been damaged than many suspect. Certainly more than Ford expected apparently.
