Just curious on anyone's take who has the Odin kit, or at least the VMP intake. Currently working on the car so figured I'd ask. I can find exactly ZERO mention of it, even from VMP where it's even mentioned to not touch or remove it.

Has anyone removed or trimmed the foam down for better air flow (Specifically the foam that is shoved in the Intake opening for what i'm guessing is to keep water and debris out)? It's incredibly tight dense cell foam, that is probably 6+ inches thick crammed in it? I can't imagine the intake can breathe very well with that much thick foam crammed into it lol.

Is there any chance you could take a picture for the less informed of us who aren't s/c?

Mine did not have that, are you sure that came with the kit? Did you install it?
I did not, ford did the install (but I was not the owner at the time). I purchased it this way, but it was professionally installed versus in garage.

Is your grill modified? Did somebody try to open up the flow path to that duct? They may have been trying to reduce some MAF noise.

Nothing that stands out, the mach 1 grille doesn't really have a good way to open it any additional.

At this point between the forums and Facebook sounds like this is definitely not original, so probably going to just remove it and see what happens. I have all new pulleys and belt going on, as well as a new wengerd tune this weekend. So might as well start from scratch 🤷‍♂️

I have a Mach 1 and not to be mean but “mach 1 grille doesn't really have a good way to open it any additional” is not a true statement.

In fact, there is more air flow available if you remove those fake fog light blocker plates (or whatever you call them).

Also, it looks like whoever had your Odin kit blocked of the openings with their own styrofoam. This is not necessary and is against more power production due the the flow restriction.

Here is what I have done.
