It is , I named my car after it . Lol
I didn't realize that it had a name. But I realized how evil it looks. I never cared for the red eyes.

I don't understand why ford is authorizing the changing of expensive parts such as driveshafts, differentials, IRS's ect.. on all these cars with vibration issues. Its clear by now that none of these change outs works 100 percent. Are they just buying time? It's time for the professionals at Ford to formally identify the problem and determine the absolute fix.

Yeah, I don't get it either. They have spent a bunch on my car and will into the future. Quarterly driveshafts! I really hate this. I like Ford and their products. I can't see myself driving another car. I wish I never traded my Acura RL in. It was a great old beater. If I change now, I will just get a beater cause I'm not going through this again. Right now I feel robbed of years of hard work.:brokenheart:

I'd be happy to pay for a fix at this point....

Hi guys,

I am new to the forum here. I bought an 2016 Ecoboost last month and I did notice there is rumble noise at between 45mph to 75mph. It is like what Juben described earlier "like riding a rumble strip ". And I feel a slight vibration but not that disturbing.

But the noise is not my main concern. My concern is that the car doesn't go perfectly in a straight line. What I mean is it feels like driving in a really windy day and I have to constantly adjust the steering wheel to make sure the car stays in lane. Could this be related to the vibration issue ?

Thanks

If the car does not track straight, most likely, wheel alignment problem.

Add mine back to this list as well - and same here, the issue was corrected 2x before and documented extensively in this very thread (with VERY LENGTHY stay overs at the Ford Service Centers).

The vibe issue came back a couple of weeks ago - vibe is definitively present. No vibes at all from 0-45mph, approaching 50mph the vibe starts, at exactly 55mph it is extremely defined to where the "rumble" is heard it's felt in the seat backs, door panels, floor pan, steering wheel and gas pedal. The vibe stays through to about 65mph and seems to slowly taper off.

If I am in the 65-70mph range and totally let off the accelerator and let the car coast back down through mph's, the vibe is still there and as stated above extremely present at exactly 55mph.

I too am disgusted with the frequent visits to the Service Center and the reoccurring issue. There's just no reason why a new vehicle owner has to deal with this nonsense at all.

We'll see what the "fix" will be this time around.

Was actually thinking about it. But I tried to let my hands off the steering wheel and the car does go in a straight line. It happens when I actually put my hands on the steering wheel

I'd take it in and demonstrate the problem to a tech or SM. Could be the IRS subframe is in crooked and needs to be squared up or just wheel alignment, or both.

This is a very bad news for all us. I could suppose that the damaged part was replaced with one OK, and then after some time it get damaged other time.

Did you discovered what part was?

And how would you square up the IRS?

When the car is new it's all fine. Then it start to do the problem. Once fixed is ok again and the restart the loop. Could be really this, but why ford doesn't fix this problem definitely? Maybe isn't this..

there are a lot of thread of 11-14 owners having vibration issue and rear end issues. I was one of them my 14 had the rear end rebuild 5 times. The only two things in common are 2 two piece driveshaft, those have been used for years in tons of different vehicles so I really do think thats the root cause, and in 11 they went to Super 8.8 gear set. Just kind of odd I never remember this kind of issue on Fox bodies, SN95s, or S197s pre 2011.

just maybe a little food for thought?

has anyone had any better luck with a one piece driveshaft over the two piece?
