On mine they replaced 2 driveshafts and the differential and its still vibrating. I see ford makes a damper, part FR3Z4A263A, that gets installed at the rear differential mounting bushing. i understand some cars come from factory with them and some don't, does anyone know anything about it?

Is this per your Service Center?

It's funny how the Service Centers will say "X-specs are fine", but they never document THE actual specs anywhere on the work orders... What may be "fine" could be at the low or high end of the allowed spec per the Ford Manuals - and "fine" for some may not be for others, because every vehicle will have different tolerances.

Interesting about the differential mounting bushings. Would also like to hear more from anybody that knows why some cars might not have them if that's really the case.

Hi guys, i am newbie here. First time own a mustang. I just bought the 16 mustang v6 couple months ago. It came up with same issue. I did let the dealer know and I have been waiting for my car for 2 weeks. I will be able to get my car done next week. Here is what they did to my car. 1st they are best Ford dealer in my location. They hook up a machine and measure the vibration on entire the car. Thus, they found out the vibration was on the rear and driveshaft. But they said the ratio of vibrations mostly on rear differential. They give Ford a call, Ford calls back and said them go ahead replace the rear differential. Up to now, the vibrations gone for 80% but they still keep the car for replacing new drive shaft. And hopefully it get fixed. I will update asap let you guys know.

But literally we can tell the vibration is from both driveshaft and rear differential. If someone just replaced one of them, it may not solve the problem at all. Make sure tell the dealer at your location.
Sounds like your dealers has the vibration analyzer and knows how to use it to track down the issues causing the vibrations. Keep us updated.

No, if it is DS or related, it won't matter what gear- even neutral as the car rolls through the speed range.
Actually, being in neutral does matter if you are trying to figure out the source of the vibration. In neutral, the DS is not spinning! Here's an experiment: If you are driving (eg, 60mph) and the car is vibrating, shift into neutral. If the vibration goes away, problem is driveshaft imbalance. If the vibration stays, problem most likely is tires or wheel imbalance.

I bought my '16 GT/CS convertible last week, and on the drive home, I noticed a slight vibration at 70 MPH (test drive was < 50 MPH due to traffic).

The rear view mirror vibrates slightly, and I don't hear any noise. The steering wheel does not shake at all.

What's interesting, is after I took the car home, I installed the locking lug nuts--which seemed to make the problem worse. I reinstalled the original lug nuts, and some of the vibration went away, though I still notice it somewhat.

I'm thinking about trying the hose clamp "fix" before taking it to my dealer.

On a side note, a co-worker had the same problem with his '15 GT, but had a lot of noise. His problem was a slightly bent half-shaft. A new shaft fixed the noise and vibration.

Well I may have mentioned it before, but it's official, my vibration is back. Not as bad as it was before but it's definitely back. So three repair attempts in, the problem was solved and my case with Ford Service was closed, but now it's back. I don't know what to do. I am really upset about it now.... I worked 20 years to finally get something cool again, and it has been a total disappointment. The problem is there is another car I like. I considered the Camaro but a V6 costs almost as much as a GT! And I really don't like it the same. I feel really beat up and taken advantage of. It took so much to work up the financial strength to buy this new car, I was so happy to get it and it has been a total fail. I have considered trading for a GT but honestly, I don't want a more expensive car and I don't need more power and I don't want to spend more payment, insurance, and fuel for something I just don't need. I thought about other cars if I do a trade in or am sucessful in a buyback, but honestly, I am so spent from this process I have lost all desire to buy ANYTHING! I was passionate about this car to make the commitment to buy it but I'm not feeling this way about any other car. I'm inclined to replace it with a beater. But I had a nice beater with my 05 Acura RL, and I can't get it back now. I could request to reopen the case and give them another chance to fix, but I think it cannot be fixed. I honestly feel if I got a GT it would develop the same problem in time. I am truly beside myself in car grief....

Mine comes and goes. The car has a sloppy driveline. I think the rear subframe moves enough that it will never be completely eliminated. The Steeda subframe braces do help. I'd reopen the case and push Ford for a 100K warranty. I suspect that if they send a FSE out with the vib equip it will show the car within engineering spec and they won't do anything else. If you open a case with the BBB, it really is pretty painless and Ford will offer you some sort of warranty so you don't have to worry about a diff going bad at 80K or something. You have to decide if it is livable and how much you like the rest of the car. I'll mention this, though, if you try to trade it in on something else, they will offer you something crazy low like 16K since they have so many 16's left that are heavily discounted and dealers around ATL are selling new v6's for under 20K.

Ford is shipping my dealer a new complete IRS for my car, but in the mist of all this the dealer scratched my car and now has to fix that was well, so not happy with the whole process.
