Yeah, they don't like forum input. They like to hear us whine personally. I had the most success with a well written email to a good service manager.

I have the same dreaded driveline vibration in 15 GTPP since day 1.

However, last weekend I installed Steeda IRS braces. The vibrations have almost completely diminished to what I would accept as a normal level. I know the subframe braces might be hiding the root cause, but it certainly helps alleviate the symptoms of a non-critical NVH annoyance.

Thoughts? Anyone else with IRS braces notice similar behavior?

Well hopefully mine goes away with their fix, now that i think about it the vibration didn't increase with speed. Im thinking if maybe those might be the fix. I will be ordering that as well now lol.

They certainly tighten things up and get rid of that 'rubber band' sensation in the rear when aggressively turning. Way less floaty...

I just got the diff bushings, and IRS spacers, I'll order this tonight. Will install once dealer sorts out what's going on with the vibration.

Mine goes in Friday for the vibration issue, they are already talking 'road force balance' before even driving the car. Have the sinking feeling this will be a battle. Car has < 600 miles ......
I found my paperwork from my original appt. today . ~600 miles. So it seems to be at that mileage that it begins to concern people. Maybe by that mileage, the brand new car feeling has worn off. FWIW - I had mine fixed @ about 1800 miles. over 1000 more miles on it now and it is still smooth.

If your dealership is going to make this a battle... make sure you get it documented with FordService here on the forums. They "escalated" my case to the point where the customer service was actually responsive.

Actually, I felt it from the very 1st test drive. Sort of blew it off thinking it was the crappy roads around the dealer. Just haven't had time to deal with it until this week.

New Driveshaft I got about 2 weeks ago has gotten rid of 75% of the vibration. It's livable niw, and I can wait until the TSB is released. They didn't replace the pinion flange, so tgat might be the last 25%, if my car is like the guy on the previous page.

Hopefully ford will find a valid root cause, and proper troubleshooting guide with parts list to.fix it for sure. Got my fingers crossed.

You know, the thought occurred to me -
Maybe Ford DOES know that the problem is prolific. But they are reticent to admit it, or issue a TSB, bc then they will be swamped by claims.

I suppose with a TSB, they could effect the repair on an as-needed basis, ie rather than emailing every owner.

Car manufacturers never contact owners about TSBs. Before chat boards, nobody knew about TSBs except the dealerships. Now at least there is information available to consumers about TSBs if they want to search and look for them.

Only time consumers are notified of a fix is if it's a safety recall.

Mine has the same vibration issues. I took it to the dealer the mechanic drove it and say they definitely felt it as well. They will have master tech work on it. I gave them the link to this forum as well, so hopefully they can get it fixed. Its such a nice car, but this vibration ruins the ride.
WOW if tech followed forum on how to fix car then why bring it to dealership. Of course dealership will not follow what forum says well because forum don't pay the bill or correct way to repair it.

I have my arbitration meeting in the next 30 days, and think it is a shame that it's coming down to that. I found a local place that balances drive shafts since according to the dealers that is not something they can/will do. I've extended the offer to Ford to pay for it out of pocket and if it fixes the problem that Ford can reimburse me. No word yet on that, and based on current and past experience I don't think Ford will take me up on that. What's interesting is that while going through my service orders, they never did change the pinion flange. The replaced the carrier and the pinion, but reused the pinion flange. Considering this is a $30 part, I might change it myself or just take the car to the shop I found and ask them to change it as part of the balancing. Out of principle, I should push Ford on this (knowing they won't budge), but I prefer to have this fixed rather than continue through a buyback. If only companies would stand behind their product with more than words...

This isn’t the experience we want for you, MikeD1. Since I have your VIN already, PM me with your dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number. I’ll forward your info to the customer service specialist for your area.

The service writer gave me back my notes from the forum and said "Those forums are full of upset people who lie." I told her I thought it would be well worth their while to review what other dealers are doing. She said, "The tech working on your car already diagnosed it as a drive shaft issue. He's never wrong." Well, I hope I don't have to make her eat those words next week.
Hope your experience goes well.
Let’s get this escalated for you guys as well. Please PM me with your VINs, dealers, mileage, full names, and best daytime numbers.

Deysha
Deysha,

First I want to thank you for being on these forums - 2nd please don't take offense to what I'm about to post next...

What IS the experience that Ford wants for its customers who are voicing their concerns right here LOUD and CLEAR that there is a definitive driveline issue that we are having one hell of a time dealing with??

You know what - my NEW car has been to my local Ford Service Center 3x now for this issue of which it is still NOT resolved as of this response.

It's nice that I do have a Ford Case Number regarding this issue - which I've had since your initial outreach to me Deysha.

It's also nice that the Case Worker wants to make me feel all nice and warm inside like someone at Ford actually cares - but the reality is - each owner in this thread has had to deal with their Ford Service Centers in the same way - where the Service Center is just doing diagnosis by trial and error.

There's customers like myself who are totally frustrated with the entire "let's fix by trial and error" process. We (Customers) have bought a brand new Ford Mustang - and we have to essentially be at the mercy of the Dealerships who do not have proper diagnosis directives, because THERE IS NO TSB available to them. The problem has existed since 2015 - you can google the issue and there's many complaints on the BBB, other automotive forums and the net in general - so why 2 model years in is there NO TSB?

I've sent my Ford Case Worker quite a few emails to keep her in the loop - but guess what, it's absurd that I (the customer) has to keep up on the issue rather than Ford trying to help ME and satisfy ME the customer who just bought a new $30k+ vehicle.

I've even sent my Service Manager the link to this very thread with specific posts to reference which included VIABLE corrective action based on positive results that others have had with their Dealerships. It was HIS request to have the info - do you think he even read it? NO - I've asked several times, same response, NO he has not read the info emailed to him.

My vehicle stayed at the Ford Service Center for 1 week and after picking up my car on 02/08 from the now THIRD attempt to fix - the issue is still present. As of the last visit, they removed the driveshaft and sent it to an idependent shop to have the driveshaft rebalanced, because they determined it was out of balance. After this 3rd attempt to fix, the 55-60mph vibe is still present, in fact it's more pronounced than before as well.

So now I'm being told that my Service Center has contacted the Ford "Hot Line" and was advised they need to check to see if they have the special vibration detecting equipment... I'm now waiting for the Service Manager to acquire the special equipment and to reschedule me, which will be my FOURTH visit for the same issue that NO ONE at Ford HQ or Ford Engineering is willing to help resolve.

I've been more than patient, I've been extremely nice with my Case Worker, the Service Writers and Service Manager - but they too looked in all available Ford Systems and said they are at a loss as to why Ford had not issued any TSB since it's affecting 2015 and 2016 Mustangs.

So I'll ask again:
What experience does Ford want us to have?

Unfortunately my experience with this concern and Ford HQ currently SUCKS.

Here's a suggestion - Fly out one of your top Engineers to NJ, I'll drive him around for an hour so he can also acknowledge the problem first hand. Better yet, how about I contact Mark Fields CEO, Edsel and Bill Ford because honestly, I'd really like to share my sincere concerns with all of them, being that I'm a Customer of Ford. I'm sure they'd like to know the experience I and other Mustang owners are having...

I even sent this very thread to my Ford Case Worker and asked her to send this to the Ford Engineers so they can read and try to help with the issue.

My questions to you is - WHEN will this be escalated further within Ford?? What's it going to take to get more visibility from the Engineering Team?

I shouldn't have to be taking a new vehicle that has less than 3k miles on it to a Ford Service Center 4x for the same issue - it's really absurd.
