Ok, not to create another thread on the matter, but hopefully to condense things for easier reading. By now we all know how many people are having issues with ticking on the 18+, we also know how many people think its normal and to just go about your day. People are going to have different experiences so there is no one glove fits all here, but i think its more of a matter of when, not if your motor has issues.

Here is a video that almost to a T, is what i have experienced with my car, minus the shift forks being that i have a 10R80. Mainly from 3:30-5:25 he discusses what is happening.

I had my car bore scoped, which we stopped after only 2 cylinders. (We figured we seen what we need to) On one picture you can see what looks like "pitting". We looked around the entire area and couldn't see cross hatching, which you can see just below the area. It goes right in line with what the video claims that the PTWA lining is being worn down. It also makes sense as to why the tick or piston slap doesnt go away after full operating temp.

Here are also a few clips of the ticking going on

pics say jan 1 2012?

I say drive it and turn up the radio! I really start to believe it will happen on all of them at some point and it may be normal. I dunno, you see ford looking into and putting out TSB for throttle body and other things, why would they avoid this if it was a real problem? From that stand point I'm 50/50.. The sound sucks though dont get me wrong, ticking noise doesn't sound normal..

Article said after 200k you can still see cross-hatching from the honing process... looks alot like all these scored cylinders people think they have!
Not even close lol, have you looked at any pictures?

Yes, alot of them look cross hatching.. not talking about the ones from 2012 in those posted pics...

Honestly guy in video sounds like he is crying... my 2 cents..

The pictures are not from 2012, they are of my 2019 mustang gt from this week. The card that they came from stored them in the file and thats the date they have for whatever reason. You might think hes crying, but he has multiple very good points. No reason at all a brand new car, and not very cheap, should have this many issues. Also as many people that have had these issues, im sure your 2 cents would change if you went through it.

As for the cross hatching, if you read up on how it is done and the specs/measurements, its as thick as a hair. One good scuff/score is going to be well past that. In my case, as shown, there seem to be multiple spots where you cant see an ounce of cross hatching, thats on top of the other issues i have personally had with my car.

Ask to do a compression test, if the cylinder is damaged, or the engine is damaged, I think it would have a loss of compression

I think the compression will still read fine, however i think its more of an issue of premature wear. My guess is that everyone will say its fine, keep driving and get further done with their warranty before they have those issues.

Im looking at this for the long term, id rather find these problems early and get rid of it before i keep paying and have the problems down the road or out of warranty.

If you dump it now you're probably looking at what? A $10k hit?
No, looking at the buy back process/ lemon law. On top of this engine problem, i have had other issues with the car so its just a growing list unfortunately

so no loss of power..?no smoke. no oil usage...?.don't wanna do a leakdown test and you want a new car???.... If the cylinder wall is actually damaged you will lose compression and use oil if not you just a crybaby..if ford gives in to you for no reason, they need to reevaluate the whole damn system

lol obviously you cant read, and are absolutely retarded. The scoring in the walls look like a damn block with 200K miles or more i have 9500. So yes, eventually i will be having more problems than i do now, i am trying to get it taken care of before that happens. On top of the scoring that we have found in only two cylinders. Didnt feel a need to scope the other 6. On top of this, i have had idle issues, cut power, misfire code, and other problems.

So no me, or any of the other people are being cry baby's when we spend a damn good amount of money on a brand new car, only to have issues that cause worry.
