Had the tick after the dealer did an oil change. Having already read about Ceratec, I went straight to the auto part store, and added a bottle in the parking lot. Two mile drive home, and the tick was gone. Now I put in one bottle with each oil change. Tick has never returned.
The engines on post-facelift and pre-facelift are the same let’s say in terms of this? I wonder if Ceratec works mainly on post-facelift or both the same.

It will work on all Coyotes. And nothing has been proven in regards to specific oils and or filters. Changing one for another could change the tick or do absolutely nothing. You are, way, way overthinking this.

No. I personally don’t like the idea of throwing stuff in my engine that isn’t oil.
there’s probably nothing wrong with it , but I’ve mostly been weary bc of warranty.
you still have a warranty on your 2017?

i had the tick and it literally stopped as i was adding Ceretec. I use it with every oil change but just one bottle not the two which liqui moly recommends for 10 qts .

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to give you a little update regarding the tick after 4 days of driving on Yacco 5W-20 oil.

I’m seeing/hearing like 75 % improvement.
In idle or while in Drive or Reverse it ticks very very occasionaly and you really need to pay close attention and be in a garage or next to a wall to even hear it.
In low RPM you can still hear it, but it also got quieter.

I drove only like 100-150 kms so far, so I will give it some more time and perhaps then I will also try 1 can of Ceratec.

But in terms of solely the oil, it seems Yacco oil also does the trick in a very good way.

Which Yacco oil? They sell quite a few types.

Penzoil ultra platinum 5w30 and 1 bottle of ceratec almost every oil change fixes the tick.

I can go every other oil change without cerstec and still not hear the tick. After about 2 clean oil changes with no ceratec, it wants to start ticking again. Rarely will I skip out on ceratec.

If it was going to blow up I figure it would have done so by now so I'll just keep using it.

Ceratec did nothing for my 18. it maybe went away for like a couple weeks then started ticking again. I really just ignore it at this point since i've heard its normal. I use 5w30 and at 86k miles.

Does anyone have this tick in the UK?
I've heard it in the videos of the US cars but never at home.

Anyone in UK with it?
