I'm not worried either. My car did it when cold on the factory filled oil, but I've yet to hear it after my first oil change to full synthetic MC 5W20 at 2500 miles. Admittedly, I haven't driven my car much recently because NJ winter.

My 18 has had the tick since day one. Completely goes away once the oil heats up. Just hit 900 miles, changed the factory oil, still ticks at cold starts, actually sounds louder now. I'm not going to worry about it at this point. I'm going to drive the car, and enjoy it.

Because they go based on warranty claims and actual replacements that cost them money. We don't know the true impact. We only know the people who yell on Youtube or post on forums about it. Majority of the public either isn't posting about it or just continue to drive it ignoring it or do not truly have it.
My 15 GT got a short block at 28,000 miles per Ford warranty. No tick and now I use Ceratec.
