Hello everyone,

Would like to ask you about your experience with Ceratec.

Does it really help to erase the typewriter tick?
Do you need to apply it every year or does it lasts?

Today I changed an oil to a different brand to see if it helps the tick.
Will see in upcoming miles if it helps.
My mechanic told me he has good experience with this oil (Yacco).

But If it doesn’t then I would for sure like to try Ceratec.

Thanks everyone for your answers!

According to everyone I’ve talked to, it helps.
This place changed my oil with 5w-20 valvoline and it just ticks away.

usually use Pennzoil platinum 5w30 and don’t really have the tick anymore. It’s ticking bad now.

And did you try using Ceratec?
No. I personally don’t like the idea of throwing stuff in my engine that isn’t oil.

there’s probably nothing wrong with it , but I’ve mostly been weary bc of warranty.

I understand that, but I think if it would somehow damage the engine, the comunity would already complained alot… I haven’t read anything bad on Ceratec yet to be honest. But warranty is totaly understandable.

I’ll likely give it a try here soon. The tick drives me nuts. It’s all I can hear if I drive next to a wall/cars.

I use a container of Ceratec with Amsoil 5w30 every oil change. I have 40k on the engine without the tick.

I had the engine tick even running Amsoil 5W-30, I was running Full Synthetic Motorcraft before and the engine ticked as well. I switched to Amsoil and ultimately the tick still ensued. I run Amsoil Signature Series along with Ceratec now and throw 2 bottles in with every oil change and the tick quieted down significantly, it is basically gone now and its very rare I hear it anymore.

I use synthetic 5W-20 as recommended… do you think a can of Ceratec could also help me?
Is it better to apply 2 cans or try it firstly on 1 can?
After how long or how many miles did you see a difference after applying Ceratec?

So if I understand correctly, you had the tick but after 1 can of Ceratec it went away?
How long it took to go away after you put Ceratec inside?
Is 1 can of Ceratec enough? Some say 2 cans.

I use archoil 9100, doesn't discolor the oil. 57K on a 21 GT, no tick since the first oil change.

Yes, it worked like magic! plus it won't hurt your engine. Do it with the next oil change! Mine 5w50 cause I'm boosted I dunno about your ride mate.

I’m using synthetic 5W-20 on my GT. You think it will also work?
