Here's a crazy idea. When the PTWA is applied, it's basically tiny molten balls of metal, splattered on the sides that weld together, then machined. What if some of those little spray particles aren't adhering like they should? Like when you have a contaminated welding rod without proper flux to clean and prep the surface?
This of course would not happen to every car, but to a small percentage.
