Is that dog hair stuck to the side of the mason jar?
Hehe, yes. We have a Leonberger. She's on the small side for the breed, only 105 lbs.

Was the milky oil in the separator? It is likely contaminated with fuel, blow-by, and moisture.
Yes, it's from the separator, good point. That's why I am not too worried. Definitely has quite a bit of fuel in it. Smells really good :ninja:

The first thing I saw was the avg mpg and thought that it doesn't add up to the username :D :D :D
Good catch! I have one readout that I reset each fill-up, and then there is the second one, which I've never reset on purpose, but I think it reset automatically @ 10,000 miles. Since I haven't done a track day in quite a while now, I suspect that the 19.2 MPG is from my mostly highway commute. I think I got around 8 MPG at the track, possibly less.

18,000 miles, and prepping for Thunderhill on Friday.

Finally getting back out on track.

Catch can had a decent bit of oil, but not as much as last time.

I had added a quart since the last check @ 17,000 miles, and am now pretty much at the bottom hole on the dipstick. Will be bringing a couple quarts to the track and will probably add one prior or mid-day depending on dipstick level.

Washed the car while it was raining (makes it much easier to avoid hard water stains), and hope the roads dry out by Thursday when I will drive to the track after work so it doesn't get all dirty again (gotta look good for those track photos).

Hopefully I can get some decent video from the track to post up. Haven't been out since the GT350 Track Attack last October, and have never done the THill 5 mile course before, so it should be interesting.

Well, it took me quite some time to get my act together, and am still uploading my lap videos, but T-Hill was awesome as always.

I've been to Thunderhill with my Z many, many times, but never before with the GT350, and also never before have I run the 5-mile course.

I felt pretty comfortable on the "old" half, but I never got comfortable on the new section. The blind hills really threw me off, and I had a very tough time judging how hard I could push the car due to the flowing nature of the track. Still, I enjoyed that section very much, and look forward to going back and pushing a little more.

I will make a post tomorrow with some you-tube videos and track day photos.

In other news, I did just get new tires last Thursday (June 8). 20,065 miles and three track days. As you can see from the photos below, the front tires were badly corded on the inside edge. I had been checking the outsides after every session @ T-Hill, and they still looked good, but after they were removed I finally saw how torn up the inside edge was. Never had a car that wore the inside so much worse than the outside, especially with several track days on the tires. Not sure if the alignment is off, or if there is something else going on. I'm due for an oil change soon, so I'll ask the shop to check the alignment at that time.

The rear tires are slightly corded down the middle, which is partly due to running slightly high pressures (1.5 psi off?) but mostly due to there being a car-control area at T-Hill on which to practice drifting. I did far too many laps of that between track sessions, simply because it is so damn fun.

Finally, checked the oil this weekend and added another quart. This is the third quart in about 5500 miles, and I probably should add another but with 25% oil life left I will be getting a change soon so probably not much of a point. Quite a bit higher consumption that either my Z or GTI (which take about one quart every 10,000 miles), but I guess back in the "olden days" (like when I first started driving in the 1990's), we were still changing oil every 3000 miles and it was quite common to add a quart or two in the time frame. So when considered in that perspective, I guess my GT350 isn't doing too bad.

Catch can was not abnormally high after the track day and a couple thousand street miles, so I guess all that missing oil is helping to lubricate the piston rings and combustion area, but at least the intake is relatively clean.

Photos are showing tire wear, catch can level, and latest mileage. Will update in the next couple of days with some track photos and links to youtube video.

Oh, forgot to mention, the new tires made the car feel so much nicer to drive. The tramlining has decreased by a significant amount, to where it almost feels totally gone. The cabin noise is much better, and the added rubber has really improved the ride.

I always forget how the "slicks" really try to pull the car every which way when driving on the street. Feels like a brand new vehicle.

I like the east section much better than the west. And when running both sections together they just don't flow well.

They are different tracks and that's why I love running them together so much. The speed of the east with the technical changes of the west. It just feels so rewarding to flip mindsets every half lap. That said, I'm not very keen on west by itself. East, or "classic", stands much better alone.

I hope to get to take the 350 on the 5-mile someday.

Went ahead and added another quart @ 21000 miles. Still have several % before oil change, and at this point much of the oil is new anyway, HA! On the fourth added quart in about 5500 miles.

Need to check catch can, but ran out of time.
