maaaaaaannnn u da real mvp. Bless your heart.
There's a reason they are cheap, cuz they are garbage on the track and should only be used for parade laps. A Federal 595RS-PRO is $75 cheaper per tire and will run circles around it. Only downside of the Federal is they don't come in big sizes, but even a 275 will have better grip both straight line and lateral than a 325 Indy.Firestone firehawk indy 500 FT(cheap)W
Per the footnotes it appears the tires have to be purchased from GY.com and installed at a GY tire store or independent "authorized" dealer rather than "just any" independent installer. Has anyone tried an installer such as Discount Tire and if so did you get "free shipping"? I haven't joined USAA so far but am a vet so I can do so if needed. Since I'm not a member I cannot "walk through" the process to see what the options are for installers and free delivery. FYI my application would be a stock (FS) autocross 2018 Mustang GT PP1 which gets driven to/from events. It appears the SC3's are not quite as quick as the Falken RT-660's or now available Yok A052's but might have other advantages such as not "aging out" if I don't wear them out in one season of occasional autocrosses.
you BUY them thru GY.com. And they will ship to a GY branded or affiliated tire shop. You then march in and pick up your loose tires and do as you see fit. You will not get the $60 install fee back but who cares...Per the footnotes it appears the tires have to be purchased from GY.com and installed at a GY tire store or independent "authorized" dealer
If you want to put 9.5 PP wheel upfront you need 5 mm spacer to do so. I wouldn't use spacers. Also PP wheels are really heavy. I suggest you sell one set of them and go buy something in 19x10 from LMR or Apex or somewhere else you need 19x10 et40 for a square setup with 285/35/19.I'm thinking I would then use the 4 9x19 wheels for daily use with 275x40x19 tires? Or do I need 275x35x19 tires? Again, would I need spacers that I'd like to avoid?
I wonder if I go with lower ratio tires, 35s, would this change my speedometer readings?
thanks in advance.
Given that last thought, I'd give some thought to getting a whole new set of 10" or possibly 11" wide wheels for your normal track use and keeping the wheels and tires that you have now as your dedicated street setup/use as emergency track day spares.I've read through this entire thread and learned much from you all. Last Saturday I had my first real track experience at VIR and had a blast with my stock 19 GT PP1 with the PS4s. I ran in the Green class and this setup was perfect for my novice experience. And yes, I now have have the bug...

I currently run 275/35/19 on the oem 19x9 front PP wheel and it works great I run 275/35/19 rear the speedometer readings change but you can correct that with Forscan so the car know you are on 35 tires and correct everything.
So if I were you I would sell one PP set and buy 19x10 wheels to go 285/35/19 square or 295/30/19 square however the 285 will be ideal.
I personally only have 1 set at the moment but once Apex 19x11 wheels become available again I'm going to buy Apex SM-10 19x11 ET26 Fronts, 19x11 ET52 rear I don't mind rotating tires via mounting but I mind having extended studs or spacers.
your best course of action really. Sure the wheels are heavy. But it doesn't matter.Or, I could use the 9.5 inch wheels square and go with 275/35/19 tires and a 5mm bolt through spacer in front.
For my novice status heavy wheels are not an issue, I don't think. My street tires will need to be the same 275/35/19 ratio, on the 9 inch rims, for the speedometer.your best course of action really. Sure the wheels are heavy. But it doesn't matter.
Even with experience, heavy wheels aren't going to cost you as much autocross run time or HPDE lap time as most people seem to think. For my novice status heavy wheels are not an issue, I don't think. My street tires will need to be the same 275/35/19 ratio, on the 9 inch rims, for the speedometer.
