For those here that haven't died yet or gone back to living under a rock, I'm curious as to how many of you are still on your original battery. I'm still using mine. I picked up my factory ordered 5hundo on January 11th, 2020. Battery was stamped on 6/11/19.

Car is always being trickled and last time I tested it the numbers were all good. I'll check it again next time I'm in the shop but knock on wood, it has lived a healthy life so far.

Mine is on the 4th, but not because of my doing, the Ford dealership the first 3 years when things were being worked on killed the battery and they replaced it since it happened on their watch, but my fourth which is what I am on, has been going 3yr+. goes on a trickle charger from Nov 1st to May 15th, so far holding well.

Tut, tut, tut …

Another one who connects their tender direct to the terminals … :giggle:

I wrote this in June :

Who Leaves a tender on for less than 8 hours anyway ?

I’m absolutely with you, I just gave up quoting it and resorted to mild sarcasm … lol

I’m also still on my original battery but please don’t listen to me, I can’t even connect my tender properly …

Taken last month :

I only pulled the cover to clean the drain and check the battery terminals hadn’t disintegrated.

I’m also a 2020.

I’m a GT, but a fully loaded one with MR, so I guess my battery sees a similar duty cycle to a 500, or any other loaded car.

I suspect it helps so I will mention it - my modem and keyless entry are disabled.

Mach 1 here. Original battery, car built July 2021, put in service April 2022. So it sat a WHILE before being sold. Only had 4800 miles when I got it August 2024. I do keep on a tender thru the week every week, only take off on the weekends when I get it out.

I bought my 2016 in January with 2,804 miles. As part of the purchase, I had the dealership install a new battery, as it was still on the original. It was a little weak when I first started it, but that’s somewhat to be expected. The dealership had it for a few months.

Not a GT500 but…

Yep - still on original Motorcraft battery. My 2018 was a new car replacement due to Ford Buy Back of my 2016,. It currently has 41k miles. Started right up in driveway in the dead of a very harsh winter last year with no issues.

Car isn’t used as a daily anymore either - so it’s lucky to even get 3k miles on it in a year but that original battery is still kicking!

I always connect negative to a ground on the chassis EXCEPT for that photo. I had just finished my ported blower install and was reconnecting the STB so I quickly connected to battery ground. It does not normally reside there but you caught me in the in between world.

lol!

my 2016 battery finally died in 2025, and I only use alligator clamps when parked for >8 hours…

maybe you can get more than 9 years on the chassis ground? Only the shadow knows…
