As far as I know the remote start needs a module and just enabling Forscan isnt going to make it work. I believe the folding mirror issue is the same, but this I am not 100% sure since in the states we do not have this option, even though I wish we did.

You got more info then I did, and BCM's never get OTA updates as far as I know. Actually other than the sync unit no module get a an OTA.
