Still on my original battery, stamped 20/12/2022. I took delivery of my M1 3 years ago this past June. I've driven it a tad over 8,500 miles. I keep the battery on a trickle charger, too.
Just be sure to periodically check the battery fluid levels and top off as needed.

My battery was on its last legs, changed it this past January. Took delivery of my car in September 2022, so not quite 3.5 years. Daily driver, I don’t use a maintainer/trickle charger when not in use.

I like to disassemble things.
For decades I never trickle charged and never had a problem. But cars now are essentially alive to some degree, all the time! So it doesn't take long and before you know it and you're looking for your jumper cables.

GT 10R80 here no mods, no tender. Bought her new Nov '22 battery still kicking. I realize it falls under life expectancy but I have just 5500 miles on the clock šŸ˜‚. Perhaps a road trip is in order for the garage queen?

Mine shit the bed last summer

2019-2025 RIP

Although I am positive the Shelby experience took some life off it. I am surprised it lasted as long as it did with how long it sat in waiting and needing to be defibrillated many times.

I hear you there, I do. I keep a Wolfbox jump starter in my Bronco Raptor as a "just in case" and planned on getting one for the Mustang but haven't yet. Not gonna lie, I can't rid myself of the thought of a malfunction and the car going down in a blaze of glory.

Have you used yours at all?

oh yes, use it so much we bought another one as a Christmas present last year. Best jump so far was a Caterpillar track hoe that the pool diggers left on over the weekend šŸ˜‚

My original battery was dated 02/12/19 in my 2020 GT500. Always kept on a trickle charger. Cranked a little weak a month ago. Replaced it since they tend to just die without notice (as my GT350 did).
7.5 years is what my GT350 battery lasted as well.

No, but only because I went lightweight............. Saved 25.6 lbs, including ditching heavy hardware, required for heavy batt.

Orig batt on trickle. I have 12 vehicles and they are all on trickle except DD. I get 8-10 years out of my batt's with a couple being crazy life. My only non ford, 03 EVO8, that orig batt lasted 16 years (only 12K orig miles).

Batt's in my boat (made by Johnson Controls in Pa, and I see they sold out to Clarios, so who knows how good their stuff will be going forward) last 12ish years (boat is a 2001, and I'm on 2nd set of batt's). Not religiously using trickles on little used batt's (vehicles), is just throwing money away.

As for jumper cables. They have their advantages. Dad made up a set from higher quality ends than you can not buy today (at any cost) and welding cable, about 50 years ago. Sill work, and will work fine 50 years from now. If I offroaded by myself, I would grab one of those small jumpboxes for sure.

But in my offroad "group", we have min of 6 group 65's, and alt's that add up to over 1000 amps I bet (not really lacking in "jump" capacity :)). I run dual modified 3G's, as I also have 3000W 110 converter to charge on board portable MIG welder (even have baby gas bottle, as I can't stick weld for crap)...
