Trying to figure out how this is CAM-C related...
sorry, it was "that looks interesting, does it help downforce?" since CAM-C says you can't run more splitter than was it 6" (?) past front of nose? This gives you more surface area. I don't know if the rule books says only factory bodywork can be used as a base.

it it just me or are folks missing the kicked-in corners of the fender that provides extra depth to the splitter without having to resort to pushing it way past the front plane?
The bumper is still above the splitter, so you can undercut the nose and not really add to splitter area. The effective splitter area is that which you can see in plan view. They've probably worked on the sides to help guide the air laterally & help evacuate the wheel well. For sure the underside of the nose is contoured.

That's a complete guess, though. It's almost impossible to figure out all of what an aero piece actually does by looking at it. There's just too much going on.

fair enough. AU supercars has a 6" (?) protrusion limit and it was the first time I'd seen someone scallop out the ends of the bumper like that for more 'deck' surface area.

The deal with the sculpting is that there is a surface above and below the high pressure area. Much of that high pressure area acting on the splitter is counteracted by the same high pressure pocket acting on the underside of the scallop. That's why I'm guessing it's for another goal.

This is another example of the same type of thing. I know a guy that played with it a little.

Here's a 295/35-18 A052 on an 18x11" wheel. The combo weighs 51 lbs. Looking forward to first runs on these tomorrow.
What wheel is that Steve ? I considered getting a set with A052s but Apex EC-7s are currently on backorder until May looks like. I do have Falkens currently which I haven't driven on and it looks like (looking at some of the results) they don't work too bad.

They are Forgestar CF5s which take a while to get too. May isn't that far off at this point to wait on Apex wheels.

Any chance you can go full CAMtard and look at 12s to properly fit 315s?

That requires rolling fenders, doesn't it ? If yes, then I am definitely not there yet :)

First runs in on these tires and quite impressed with the tires' ability to put power down. I settled on pressures 2 psi higher than what I was using for BFGs, then went down one click on rear comp and one click up on rear rebound.

Really enjoyed the runs on these too. Just feels overall easier to drive but this could also be due to the fact that I'm getting way more dialed in with the Viking shocks I've been running.

It was a mild day out and tire temps never got over 100 deg so didn't have trouble going faster and faster over the bazillion runs we got today with the small club.

How was the tire wear and will you be driving on them to/from events?

Also how was the steering response compared to the BFG's which have a "lots of slip angle required compared to RE-71R's" reputation?

FYI I'm still in FS so I would be on 275/35x19's with 9" F and 9.5" R wheels.

Thanks!

For camber-limited classes I think the RT660 is gonna be a better choice. Similarly stiff sidewall to RE71R.

@NightmareMoon just won CAMC at the Texas tour on them (295/35R19 on 11").

With quite an advantage over 2nd driver and great pax too (some really serious names behind him there). Great driving.
Will be curious to hear the impressions on the tire.

Yeah 5th overall pax. Great performance. Can't wait to see some video.

One thing that it tells me is that the very same tire and wheel combo as I have has plenty of grip and performance!
