I fear this with a haul trailer once I start towing next year.

OG Racing is local to me and if you didn't know, one of the biggest motorsport suppliers on the east coast. I was in there in August trying out seats and I asked one of the employees about a trailer lock they advertised on their IG. He gave me a demo and said that its nearly impossible and you would need some heavy heavy machinery to cut it open but when they were testing it, I dont think it was still able to be removed from the trailer. I dont remember all the details but the $350 seems to make it worth the buy. They can give better info than I can.

Edit to add:

I stand corrected :

The company that broke the lock https://www.provenlocks.com/
When we bought our camper, I did a ton of research on these locks because we store ours at a covered parking area behind a gate, which is basically no protection. What I found was the best solution was get good insurance, and lock the latch back so the ball can't be locked in place. Beyond that, all of these locks can be defeated. It's a matter of how much time do you want the criminal to spend on your trailer.

In reality, the best solution is to remove tires, OR install a boot on at least two wheels. The boot will buy you enough time if you are home to greet the uninvited visitor with a shotgun, or call the police if you are not home.

I went through this same decision earlier in the year. For me it was a balance of weight, options and size. Everyone says get as big of a trailer that you can afford.....but how big is too big.

For me I ended up getting a 24' aluminum trailer with an oversized escape hatch.

I do not need a golf cart at the track and it holds the extra stuff I may need to bring. Other then wanting to add a couple things, it fits my needs perfectly.

I do pull it using a WDH with my F-250.....tho I have pulled it behind my 19' Raptor once (was not a fan).

Thanks for the info and photos! If you were buying a new 24’ trailer today, what options would you look for? Airline tracks?, wall ties, upper cabinets, lower cabinets, extended ramp, etc?

Mine has upper and lower front cabinet (not L shaped) and I like them but it does take a way 2 feet of floor space. I also upgraded the tires from Chinese branded to Good years and immediately noticed a difference while towing (way better road manners).

I did not know how I wanted to setup my trailer so I did not get it with e-track/airline tracks installed as I will configure those later. I added some Pit posse items (door cabinet, strap brackets, etc.) and those have been handy.

I added a battery and winch (with synthetic line) mounted behind the lower cabinets for just encase reasons.

I also have a set of race ramps to help extend the loading ramp. I opted for these vs longer ramps attached to the trailer for versatility.

I do wish I had a d-ring closer to the car vs all the way in the front so I will fix that in the future.

I may add carpet on the lower part of the walls to keep things looking nice and figure a out spot to mount my spare tires to where I can get to the with a car loaded in the trailer.

I had a open trailer, that I finally converted to enclosed. Did all the work myself. Ended up with 2,000# all aluminum trailer, with custom aerodynamics. Yeah, you have to winch it in/out, and you cannot stand and walk in there. I know, but once at the track I unload and never enter inside again anyways - that is my story.
