For a base Ecoboost mustang does anyone think it's possible to:- Install a set of lightweight, good looking wheels + a set of genuine hi-perf summer tires, lower the car by 1 inch, Make the effective axle ratio go from 3.15 too 3.31, get a moderate braking improvement, fix the hop, acquire a tuner, and drop 8 tenths and pick up just over 5 mph on the 1/8 mile.

According to the conversion on Wallace's calculation page that's about 1.2 sec and 6 mph in the quarter.

Now for my question here. How many out there believe this is possible for less than $3500?

If you can find the wheels that fit your criteria used or willing to wait for sales (Black Friday isn't far off), yes, otherwise probably not.

Last you pontificated and boasted in your introductory thread, you're the one that's going to explain to all of us mindless heathens whether or not it's possible.

Instead it seems to me you're coming here mining for information you don't have.

A decent set of wheels and tires are about $3000 and that’s not including balancing and mounting…

For all you want to do, you are better off trading your EcoBoost for a GT tbh
This. You will never be happy with it if you want it to be faster. I started in a base as fuck ecoboost and missed having a v8 so I traded it in for my Premium GT PP1. Upgrade in every way.

Then i traded it for a 2020 GT500 then traded it back for mine and then just boosted mine lol. That was a whole lot of not fun haha.

Only way id say to keep the eco and get power is to do and engine swap and bigger turbo. There are some that will do circles around a GT and honestly with their lighter front ends, are better handling if you do any track time.

I beg to differ here. I paid $30,800 for an ecoboost mustang with 8 miles odometer. It was with the color I wanted and with the cloth seats as leather is not the best for a road course track day car. This means I had some $10,000 to spend on making the car what I wanted.

I was not a fan of any of the stock Mustangs wheels so I sold those for $1200 wheels and tires. Got a set of Aodhan wheels 1.5 inches wider and 6 lbs lighter and equipped them with 275/35-18 Continental tires summer grade. This wheel and tire combo dropped my 1/8 mile time by a 1/2 second and added 2.5 mph.

Not bad I thought for just a wheel and tire change. I now have a set of really good looking wheels (as I have been told now many a time by admirers at the drag strip) and tires that are better than can be had on a stock GT. The wheels and tires fitted and balance, with tire pressure sensors and new wheel nuts for $2355 from Fitment Industries. Added to this a set of rear end housing to body bushes were added so as to cut the startline hop (they fixed it to about 80-90%.)

With the addition of a Cobb tuner ($580) and a really effective new on the market cold air pipe from the stock air box to the turbo we went 8,31 at 86 mph at Shadyside dragway. This beat all but one current spec 5.0 Mustang GT's.
This winter I will be installing an upgraded version of the stock turbo which will be zero cost as I did this myself. Along with that will come an entire new (but quiet) exhaust system and a Polyquad head. All of this should be good for about 125 rear wheel Hp increase.

Even with all these mods I have still laid out less than buying a stock GT and at the end of the day I will have a faster better handling/cornering car for several grand less than a stock GT. The engine I am building for 2025 will have about 700 RWHP. It twould cost a lot more to get that from a GT. And just incase you think that 700 at the wheels is a lost cause I should tell you the last Turbo motor I did with a friend made 1172 uncorrected RWHP on a highly humid & hot day in the middle of summer in Florida.

That was just a 122 inch motor, At the finals of the winternationals in Palmdale it annihilated all the opposition- factory supported of not.

If I had to do it again I would buy an Ecoboost!!!

Right at the beginning of my ecoboost series I point out that I am a newby to these cars so I hoped that some of those experts among the Ecoboost fraternity would weigh in with help. Remember nobody knows it all and that includes me. I'm looking to trade what I know about turbo motors for what other posters know that I don't. I think you jumped to a conclusion here!

I believe you're right.

I look forward to following your build. I'm a GT owner, but as a "Mustang fan" what can be done with the ecoboosts has always interested me

Welcome Sir. I know you have an Ecoboost, but do you have any videos or series on the Coyote?
No and at my age I won't be able to do all I want to the Ecoboost I have so don't hold your breath on Coyote stuff.

In a desperate attempt to gain YouTube views... Priceless
Now explain to me and others who may read this thread what would be the point in me working my butt off to show potential viewers ways to get better performances and spend the money on dyno tests to back up claims of products you could buy that work very well or don't work at all and then keep it all secret?

I am sure many members of this forum would like a clear and precise answer to the
above question!

Let me ask you a blunt question here - did I offend you in a previous life or are you always critical of those who do their best to help other performance enthusiasts. As a now retired road racer and university lecturer and a guy who has over 40 patents including fuels, F1 cylinder heads, suspensions etc whether I should share a life times experience with others or just keep quiet about it all.

Hey guys lets take a vote here. Should I follow what Tucker 80 suggests and keep all this info under cover or let all and sundry benefit from my experience. And to do that I need to let folk know it's available and they get it FOR FREE! BTW I have saved guys like you but less critical a bunch of cash by telling them what works and does not. ALL AT MY EXPENSE!

I bet you have not watched any of my video's yet but you are more than ready to condemn my actions, PRICELESS!!!!!

The PowerTec 10 youtube channel is gaining just over 2000 subscribers a month so the term 'DESPERATE' is hardly accurate. PRICELESS!!

OK guys time to vote.

All those favoring Tucker 80 comments put T80 right at the beginning of your response.

All those favoring me announcing when I have done a video pertinent to a Mustang put a DV at the beginning of your response.

If I win this Mr. tucker 80 then I believe it would be fair to expect your opinions of me be kept to yourself.
