I was under the impression that we were discussing the unequal length deal not exhausts in general
How is unequal length not a trivial case of the general subject?

I still would like a clarification.Where does cylinder 7 fit? You are using cylinder 1 twice. I doubt 7 and 8 would be nominal.

Next question do you know why these cylinders need differing lengths? Is it because the intake manifold has differing length runners?

All I know is Ed was/is (Not sure if he is still with us,) a pretty smart guy who has been proven correct over the years.

It would be nice to know how to figure this out without 200 dyno pulls

Thats the video that does not tell why or what cylinder 7 does.

Ed was an equal length guy, to 1/2 inch. Now I'm open to new ideas but you have to give more info than it just works then confuse us with bogus cylinder lengths.

1 and 8 nominal, Then you say cylinders 1, 4 & 6 are +4

So what is 1 and 7 supposed to be.

Not to mention firing order and interval, and overlap are majorly important variables, no? Are those carefully called out and controlled for?

He never knew the answers. I’m on a lot of various forums having to do with GM stuff and big block Chevy engines. The general consensus among all the forums is this guy rides on the coat tails of some truly brilliant people, but isn’t what he claims.

It’s been shown time and again that all he wants is YouTube views, to which I will not be giving.

I built the 509 in my Chevelle, I built the headers in it too. I must have done something right, because with the intake, heads, custom cam specs, and the header tubes being within 1ā€ of each other inside the frame rails it made 714 whp/692 wtq at 11:1 compression and still very drivable with a tremec 5 speed behind it.

But surely you might have left another 20ftlb behind. If only you had figured out the secret to cyl7 header length. šŸ˜€

The guy is an absolute clown. Terrible videos, zero original ideas and zero data to back up any claims.
