  1. New daily driver!

Exactly! If I'm really conservative its hovering around 21-22.5, but the second you get above 3k-4k RPM's which is literally every time I drive it the mpg drops like a rock. I've seen as low as 13 mpg on a tank. lol
  2. New daily driver!

Welcome to the club. I picked up my 24 at the end of December. The only thing I don't love is the gas mileage. The Type R has a drinking problem...
  3. How come the s550 tramlines so bad?

Did you ever get the alignment checked? I would start there just to confirm nothing is tweaked. On the stock tires these cars should be pretty rock solid.
  4. Better tires or wider wheels?

I wouldn't waste money putting better tires on a bad wheel unless you're really just in love with the current style. Ford factory wheels are unacceptably heavy. You can go much wider with a flow formed wheel and shave off a ton of weight at the same time.
  5. How do your store your service history?

I used to keep a binder, but now everything including my own services are stored on Ford pass.
  6. Guys, how important is the “Shelby” name to the enjoyment of your car?

The pinnacle of Shelby performance was the Dodge Omni GLH
  7. Car turning off while driving

My 21 had FP tune on it, and had the same happen, but at ~40mph. Car just shut off completely. Pushed the clutch, and started it right back up while still moving. Only difference was it had zero codes. Never happened again so I chalked it up as a fluke.
  8. Guys, how important is the “Shelby” name to the enjoyment of your car?

why stop with just one extra emblem...
  9. Guys, how important is the “Shelby” name to the enjoyment of your car?

But that's not the question. The question was if Ford produced two identical cars and 1 said Shelby and other didn't how much more would you pay for the pleasure of seeing Shelby on one? Would you pay $5000 more than an identical car knowing the only difference was the name Shelby? Or would it...
  10. CALIFORNIA SPECIAL S550 Mustang Thread

Personally I'd go without. I really like the 17 as it was from the factory. However, part of the allure of mustangs is customizing to your own personal tastes so you can't go wrong either way.
  11. Guys, how important is the “Shelby” name to the enjoyment of your car?

I tend to agree with you, buy why? Back to the op's question; clearly there's something in a name. At this point maybe it's just great marketing. It might not add to the driving experience, but there seems to be some level of intrinsic value in the legacy.
  12. Guys, how important is the “Shelby” name to the enjoyment of your car?

Nope just asking the group what the goodwill value of the name is. To me zero. I buy the machine, and would buy at the best value. A name wouldn't sway me to pay more, but maybe others feel differently. I am genuinely curious to hear the opinions. Clearly Ford felt there was value or they...
  13. Guys, how important is the “Shelby” name to the enjoyment of your car?

I would love to know how much value do you think it adds having Shelby on it? if Ford produced two identical cars and the only difference was that one had "Shelby" on it how much more would you pay? And maybe more importantly would you fork over the extra cash for the cool factor of a name?
  14. Guys, how important is the “Shelby” name to the enjoyment of your car?

The Shelby name carried a lot more prominence when his team was directly involved. Once that ended it was just a marketing tool. Great cars, but licensing the name doesn't really add value at this point.
  15. I hate bad old drivers.

I'm not sure what I fear more, the elderly or the ass-hats that abandon shopping carts in the middle of parking lots. Maybe equally terrifying... In all honesty it's really not all old people. My 76 year old dad moves from Florida to Ohio and on day 1 hops in my 99 2wd 4.0 Ranger in >8" of...
  16. Long term would you rather…GT350 vs GT500

Where I'm at I see 2-3 GT350's a week. However, it's real event when I see a GT500 on the road. There's an unmistakable presence about the GT500 and for that reason alone it gets my vote.
  17. Ramps for DIY Oil Change

I've bought three sets of tires from them. I typically bench mark against tire rack and all 3 times Costco has won. Mounted out the door, with road hazard cheaper than I could buy just the tires at tire rack without the cost of mounting. I honestly don't know how they do it.
  18. Lightning Lap 2024 - DH edges Mach 1 by .2 sec

It's interesting to see the difference in opinions between different forums on the Dark Horse. Here it gets zero respect, but on other forums people are singing it's praises after the results it posted at the lightning lap. Is it my cup of tea? Absolutely not, but it still put up a damn...
  19. Ramps for DIY Oil Change

Costco is absolutely worth the price of membership. Top tier gas, insane deals on tires, and of course the chickens. Way better than Walmart. You also get 2% cash back on thier credit card, and I believe another 2% back just for getting the gold card.
  20. Ramps for DIY Oil Change

I couldn't care less what you purchased or why. I just think it's a bit foolish to recommend a ~$400 set of ramps to a guy looking to do a 1st ever oil change.
