Guesstimate Repair Cost

Estimate came out to 9683 with labor. That's not including anything wrong with the suspension. 17 days repair time.

When it is all done, will you post back here the final numbers after all supplementals etc.?

Yup. Had someone hit us with no insurance. She still supplied an insurance card at the scene for the police officer... I guess that's all they check because it turns out it wasn't actually valid... We only found out later.

The police? Eh. Nothing we can do about it.

Really? Can't go write her a ticket or something? Nope.

She gets off with nothing and we were left with the $10k repair bill.

I still contemplate going to her house and messing up her car so she can't drive it anymore. She should be taking a bus anyway.

It would be nice if there was mandatory jail time for no insurance, honestly 2 year sentences would be great, or if illegals instant deportation. None of this waiting around crap.

More and more often nowadays, the laws are biased against law abiding people. Criminals are hard to catch, hard to prosecute, and even harder to put or keep in prison, and even more so if the criminal is an illegal emigrant.

Oh... Yea they did. I'm just saying that we had to use our insurance to cover that cost. Should have made that more clear. It's a ding on my insurance and she gets off with nothing. It's BS.

Just started watching Live PD since we have a local PD that is regular on the show. I noticed in AZ it is a mandatory tow and impound if caught without insurance. I wonder how far they take it? Do owners have to show proof of insurance before they get the car back?
Not sure what our SC laws are since I comply to the tune of $6700+ per year.

Picked up the car late last week. The final total was 9812.83. The car is going to have to go back and get some touch up. Found some scratches and an over spray area. Other then that the car looks pretty good.

Yup. I'm an insurance agent in AZ. I'll get calls for people that are just trying to buy insurance so they can get their car back. Most states surcharge for you not having current insurance. I very rarely sell it to them since I know they'll cancel after a few days and I have to eat cancels. So I tell them we need 6 months in full to write if they're not insurured. They typically call GEICO.

my guess over 7k . plus ! to replace my rear window, side windows, a dent on the back window, the front window the leather on the passenger seat and the leather on the back seat ( my car was vandalized :( ) total repair was 5k plus.
