I followed your link and the new version is listed for download. I have a bug in my software when I click on update in the menu it never shows a newer version. A couple of days ago I went to mu account and downloaded the version on the website and it was the same as what I have.

I think I was downloading the American version and I noticed this time it said global. So maybe this fixes it. Thanks for looking into this.

Does it show now? If not maybe Roland is mistaken on what version it is on as I am using a beta version of 3.2 to try and test a bug I am having with custom os and I noticed its not there either

Yea, it works now. Not sure if the menu button for updates works, time will answer that.

If there are no updates available the button wont do anything, I'll get a message added. You should see something in the debug log if that is the case.

US/Global is the same. We only differentiate the Australian version (2.11) which is essentially the same code base with some optimisations to make it faster due to the overhead of all of the US/Global parameters and calibrations.

Version: 3.10.8977.29341 has been on the website since the 30/07 (about a week) the prior build should also have had it as well (3.10.8938)

If in doubt download from the website or use the check for updates in the help menu.

3.20 is an alpha version, we use it for adding parameters pre QA. Do not use it on customers cars unless you've spoken to us first via support.

I checked the button and it said I was up to date. I then went to the web site and it had the same version I had, from 6/20/24.

Then when I followed your link it gave me version 3.10.xxxxxx341

So all is well now, thanks.

Another PCMtec capability….the gen3 code limits port fuel injection window to around 75% duty cycle. There’s a switch to enable “variable pfi window” that is defined in PCMtec but not other tuning softwares. This parameter is defaulted to on in some Whipple tunes but it’s off on stock vehicles and Roush. I’ve tested it and it enables about 10% more duty cycle for port injection when switched on.

This may be a dumb question, but could I receive a file from a tuner, say via email, and use PCMtec software to deliver the tune to my vehicle? It seems like tuners write files for specific delivery devices, I.e. HP or SCT; not sure if it’s possible to port them to PCMtec and then deliver via the OBDX.

Sorry for the naivety. Thanks in advance!

It would need to be in PCM format to do that.

Thx for that.

What I really want to do is retune the 10R80 transmission and its shifting. I want the shift schedule of track mode in normal mode. Currently, it seems to be heavily biased towards MPGs, I.e. it shifts up to 10th gear even at low speeds and stays there without moderate application of the throttle. In track mode, and other modes, it holds gears longer and is quick to downshift when called upon. I want to duplicate that behavior in normal mode.

is it possible to do this with PCMtec? Am I able to “copy” track mode tables to normal mode without opening too big a can of worms? I’m not as knowledgeable as you all.

Yes you can easily change the shift points. Copy and paste if you want the sport mode in base.

Problem is most if not all Ford tuners lock the tune. So you would need to learn how to tune the engine as well. If you don't have a tune then simple.

We always had interest in releasing multitune to more customers, we needed to ensure we supported the entire platform first and had sufficient testing. Eg we now cover almost every ecoboost 2.3, 2.7. 3.0,3.5L and NA 3.3,3.7,5.0 5.2 F150 15-21 and Mustang scross 15-23 with multi tune and with 20-40k parameters mapped. No one else maps calibrations anywhere near to this level, we don't have any interest in being another hptuners, we are currently sticking to one platform with the aim of doing it properly and completely, not 50 platforms all half mapped.

The other main issue is being overwhelmed with support as we need to build out our training for custom os, hence releasing it slowly to more and more customers

The current position is it is turned on on request with the worktop product, it is priced at 2k usd to ensure only serious tuners purchase it at this stage. We don't want everyone man and his dog using it, getting confused and trying up support. This pricing is not designed for once off users, it is cheaper to go see a tuner that is fully trained in the system.

This cut down version in protuner is still in discussion however will likely include some pre configured options.

To some perhaps however having the ability to infinitely adjust power, variable boost levels or even rev limits and shift schedules on the fly without even turning the engine off is a huge benefit to many. No to mention proper configurable launch control! Eg rolling anti lag has been extremely well received by 100s of customers. We will be adding ignition cut and transbrake shortly.
It also includes anti clone and anti tamper which helps tuners protect their IP.

We want to grow the product faster which means we need more engineers. We are a team of 5, this was a business decision to help us fund improving and adding more and more features to the custom os to bridge the gap between oem and aftermarket. We have many more features planned.

Also for those that have purchased the product feel free to post technical discussion on our forum https://forum.pcmtec.com
Is there a definitive answer as to whether this software can read, modify and write 2021 Roush tunes?

They have stock Roush tunes on the website for download.
Unless Roush started locking the tunes it will download and read them.
