This may be a dumb question, but could I receive a file from a tuner, say via email, and use PCMtec software to deliver the tune to my vehicle? It seems like tuners write files for specific delivery devices, I.e. HP or SCT; not sure if it’s possible to port them to PCMtec and then deliver via the OBDX.

Sorry for the naivety. Thanks in advance!
Yes we include that for free with every licensed tune. You simply need a laptop and a obdx cable. Your tuner can then remotely send you locked files you can flash in.

They can also send it in cef format for an sct x4 if they are an advantage dealer.

We support the Livernois Mycal and Lund LRX for remote tune delivery.

Avid Ultra Flash is also in beta testing

So there are 5 different ways you can send a remote tune file via PCMTEC currently.

They have stock Roush tunes on the website for download.
Unless Roush started locking the tunes it will download and read them.
Yes we support 15-23 Roush tunes, we support Custom OS Multitune for 18+ Roush as well.

If your file is not in the list send in a stock read and we will add support for you.

Perfect, thanks. This is more attractive than purchasing an RTD or SCT product.

If I purchase a ford performance calibration, can I use pcmtec to disable rev-hang in the tune and then flash that with my obdxpro ft?

Bringing this post into this thread:

Here's your answer all in one:

Apparently this parameter enables or disables the "gear shift hang" function. It was set to 1 on my stock tune and I've set it to 0. I need to do side-by-side testing, but it seems to have helped the engine speed drop more quickly between shifts (manual transmission). I'm still curious if there's more that can be done to help decelerate the engine with zero throttle.

Has anyone submitted a ford performance power pack 3 tune for gen 2 coyotes yet? I called ford performance and they will not sell the power pack 3 anymore. They said something about legal stuff. It's a shame, because the power pack 3 is an awesome setup. Maybe we need to find people on the forum who have it. Does it cost credits to read a pcm?

Again, we're talking .3-.4 load not .7 or .9. I'm not sure I would call that "lugging". .3-.4 load and 1500 rpm is right smack where these cars cruise at 65-75 mph.

One interesting thing is that the Ford Ranger EB will run near 1.0 load at cruise at 75 mph. The knock advance will push every cylinder right into knock over and over again the entire time.
Old post but could this be due to the VCT timing in fuel economy mode where they want the throttle as far open as possible to reduce pumping losses?

I’m certain that’s part of it, combined with the smaller displacement, lower compression, and increased air drag.
