Man, sorry to hear that Enzo. So sad that this is not being handled more professionally. I hope that everything works out for you.
I appreciate it man! The dealer has provided good service, but unfortunately they are backed up as well from other vehicles they have there. For me it's really frustrating for Ford to cheap out on such a essential piece of the car. Well see what happens with the law suit and go from there. This is my first rodeo of problems with Ford either, I had 16 GT that had a bad motor at 13k miles, and had the motor replaced in that one, but what was odd about it, was the transmission. The MT-82 in my 16 didn't have any issues like this one, and shifting was so much better on the 16. I'll keep you guys posted.

Seems you manual guys are having a heck of time with the tranny. I guess I am glad I have the auto, not as fun, but bulletproof so far at 40K miles.

At this point, I’m regretting going with this manual. I just have a hard time driving a automatic sports car, I’ve always driven manual. Last time I did a race in a auto, I slammed my left foot on the ghost clutch and shoved the automatic shifter into neutral thinking I was shifting into 3rd lol.

Mine is my DD so for commuting and casual weekend trips the auto is perfect. I can understand if your racing though.

Yep, $1800.00 will buy a lot of oil changes.
This is unrelated to the MT-82, but I received a check for $12.91 for some class action against Blue Cross. No shit - came in the mail today. Woo-hoo!

The A10 is really awesome. I actually daily my manual car though. Makes life more fun for me, even if some times traffic can be annoying. The clutch is super easy and smooth on this car though.

I'm pretty convinced though that the issue with the MT-82 isn't the design at all, but rather QC and supplier quality. I don't understand why Ford hasn't made more of an effort to crack down on it though because it has to be costing them a fortune.

I take it you haven't yet read the threads dealing with the plethora of A10 problems. :)
You're lucky to have a good A10, just like others seem to be lucky enough to have a good M6.
The problem is, at 50K dollars (or euros, if you're on the wrong side of the ocean) one shouldn't have to rely on luck.

You're absolutely right. Unfortunately, American manufacturers have struggled for decades with QC and part quality. I don't know exactly why that is.

Vlad, I believe you are overstating the issues with the A10. Many of the early issues were resolved by resetting the transmission. Other pertained to low oil levels. I’m not saying it’s perfect but A10 owners have not had anywhere’s near the issues the MT82 folks have had to deal with.

It’s called “mass production”. And it’s hardly just in the US. There’s a very good reason people always say to lease a German car.

Indeed, if we discuss the extent of the problems, rather than just their mere existence, then it can be argued that it's a bit higher on the manual's side.
But generally speaking, regardless of which one you get, you still have to keep your fingers crossed on the production day. :)

Sure it's not just in the US. European Fords have their problems, too. But when a European vehicle has problems, it means there's a rattle coming from a plastic trim, or a software glitch with the parking sensors, or a dashboard that sags a bit in the center, or something along those lines. When a Mustang has problems, it means the gearbox doesn't work, or you find water inside after a heavy rain, or the paint chips and scratches if you just look at it crossly, or the body panels look as if they had been installed by Ray Charles. As with the A10 vs MT-82 comparison, it's not so much about the existence of the problems, but rather about their scale.

On the other hand, between a Kia that works perfectly all the time and doesn't need anything but oil and gas for its entire lifetime, and a Mustang that locks me out of third gear once in a while, I know what I'd choose. :D

My (stock) 2011 went through 3 clutches, two transmissions, and probably 4 or 5 fluid formulations all under warranty. Ford engineer from Michigan flew out - the whole shebang. I would say the car spent close to 3 months total at the dealer and was on a first name basis with everyone in the service area. Ford offered me premium care to 75k miles which I took. Funny. I swore off of Ford entirely after that car. I guess time heals all wounds.

Class actions are just about punishing manufacturers. Enjoy your $4.89 check when you get it though. Try not to spend it all in one place.

I loveeeee my m82, after I installed Barton short throw shifter and steeda spring at 1k miles... smooth as silk...
Knocking on wood but have had 0 issues with my 2017 PP GT manual gearbox at 25K. I recently swapped the original shifter with a Steeda Tri-Ax Race shifter and clutch pedal spring. Solved all the notchy/lockout issues I was having. Drives like a much upgraded vehicle now. I'm sorry some of you guys are having issues... that sucks.
