I was out for a drive today and saw a new 2021 Mustang 5.0 manual at my local dealer.

The label with assembly location (Flat Rock) also has parts sourcing information and it said the transmission was made in the US. I didn't take a picture and the window sticker also confirmed it was the MT-82.

While this could have been a mix up with the sticker from an automatic car, my question is did Ford start building the MT-82 in the US?

Photo here. Also they build High Performance 2.3t engine in US now. When I saw it, I thought “ finally, Ford did a right thing”. But I was wrong, the clutch feeling even worse than the MT-82 which made in China... Don’t know what difference between engine, but I think made in US really decreased the quality of the MT-82. What a shame.

Not sure what the clutch has to do with the transmission. It's just a coupler between the engine and transmission. As long as it's not slipping it shouldn't affect the operation of the transmission at all..

You're questioning the two separate sources of information you've already found?

1. Your picture has absolutely nothing to do with where the transmission is made.

2. LOL!!...........wut??? I can't even understand what you're trying to say about the clutch in the MT82.

"Country of Origin" has a number meanings, depending on how it is traded or imported. If it doesn't say "Manufactured in USA" there's a good chance it wasn't. I think this is a term that was designed to avoid saying where it was made.

That is clearly a stick shift Mustang GT and the label says the transmission is made in the US.

I have a 2013 Mustang 5.0 and the country of origin for the transmission is China. On the picture I just posted, it says the US. This is just a regular 2021 Mustang GT Premium.
