I'm not sure the GTD car is what the article is referring to. The GTD car looks like a Mustang race car, not a mid-engine car. Unless it is electric, where is the space for the engine in the GTD car?

This is not the mid-engine Mustang referred to in the article. This isn't a mid-engine car. The article clearly stated the mid-engined Mustang would NOT be based on the S650 platform, and that is.

It is "Project Gold." The street version of the upcoming GT3 race car. Cantilever rear suspension, an alleged SLA front suspension, transaxle (Tremec DCT), CF driveshaft, and plenty more exotic hardware. While the race GT3 is planned to be naturally aspirated, the street version will undoubtedly be FI, much like the Predator engine.

The upcoming GT3 racecar is front engined. Not mid.

If Ford actually wants to race their GT3 in the LeMans series, they have to build 300 road-going versions. Those will be front engined, just like the race car. It would have to be, as LeMans GT3 Mustangs have to be based on the S650 platform. The article made it very clear that the mid-engine car will not be.

Clickbait. That looks like the GT3 car which is built by multimatic I believe.

It is NOT fake.

That looks extremely similar to the GT3 that Multimatic is also making. The spoiler, rear diffuser, wheels, grille opening and front fenders look identical. It appears to be a street version of the GT3. The rear does look wide enough to be mid-engine.
