Any recommendations on fluid choices and how much I would need? Just hit 50k miles.
Looking at Motul 600 for PP Brembo brakes, but don't know about radiator, diff, and trans. Are the options at autozone/napa okay or should I look elsewhere?
Any recommendations for brake fluid? PP Brembo brakes. Daily driver, with occasional track day. I've seen Motul 660 thrown around. Is that good for a daily? How much will I need?
So Ford wants to hit sub 7:00 at the nurburgring? Why do they care about that all of a sudden, but never cared enough to test the Ford GT there. Maybe they did but didn't release the times because they were dissapointing.
Ya I thought the pic they posted looked like cantilever coilovers, but I talked to someone that went to the event last night and he said it is indeed mid engine. He saw it up close.
It is certainly doable to get the heat issues under control. I have not done it, but here is what I would do:
1. ESS G2/G3 centri with larger intercooler. Maybe use an interchiller to get even colder temps.
2. 160 degree thermostat.
3. VMP triple pass heat exchanger (radiator). They use this on...
I know a lot of people just use the stock hood with Track Spec vents. Much cheaper than an aftermarket hood, and looks pretty awesome, and also significantly improves cooling. I've heard some people that use these say their CHTs drop 20 degrees. I don't think there's an aftermarket hood that...
I personally would rule out a 16 gt350 for the known engine issues. The coyote is just a better engine in terms of reliability especially vs the early 5.2s. However the gt350 will likely hold its value better. If you can find a used GT500 for not too much more than a DH then I would jump on that.
Thanks for the info. So a DW400 pump without a BAP would be sufficient for a fairly conservative level of boost. At what point do people go with double or triple pumps?
Chill dude. I'm just trying to gather information on supporting mods because I've never boosted a car before. Some people upgrade fuel systems, some just use a BAP, some probably don't do either. I'm assuming it's dependent on the power levels you're aiming for, but that's why I'm asking because...
I don't have E85 near me unfortunately. I'd like to avoid upgrading fuel systems if I can, and I'd rather dial back the boost than upgrade fuel systems if that's an option.
Likely Lund. I haven't ordered anything yet, just trying to answer some questions before I get in over my head. ESS recommends 120mm for gen 2 5.0s. What's the purpose of a BAP?
